CAS734 - Shoes
Do you own cowboy boots? I have a pair and love them.
For my card today I used these cute cowboy boots from DRS Designs and colored them up with copics.
I also wanted to play around with the placement of the sentiment. This sentiment is all one stamp all lined up and I thought it would be fun to move the words around to show you that you don't have to cut apart your stamps to get your words in other places on your cards.
First, I stamped the full sentiment on acetate. Next, I lined up the "Life is better" part of the sentiment to the left of the boots. I then masked off the card where the rest of the sentiment would be stamped using the acetate as the guide so that I could just get the "Life is better" next to the boots.
I then moved the card front to line up where I wanted the words "in Cowboy" and then masked the card front where the words "Life is better" and "Boots" so that those would not stamp on the card.
Finally, I moved the card front to where I wanted the word "BOOTS". I then masked the top portion of the sentiment using the acetate as my guide. I then stamped the "BOOTS".
Here is a picture of my acetate with the full sentiment and you can see the word BOOTS at the top. That is because that paper is my masking paper. I have moved it around and used that paper to cover up my cardstock. In the photo you can also see the full sentiment on the acetate and under it the white paper it is already stamped. Again, I used the acetate as my guide and if I line up my cardstock under my mask paper, I would be able to move the word boots anywhere on my card by simply masking the top portion of the stamp with my scrap paper.
If you have acetate, give this a try to move around your sentiments and use only portions. It is a great way to stretch your stamps.
Thank you for stopping by to check out my card today. I appreciate the lovely comments. If you leave me a comment, I can stop by your blog for a visit.
I also created a tutorial called Moving Around Your Sentiment.
