Military Birthday

WT1054 - Use DP and take it up a notch

My good friend Polly who passed earlier this year is the inspiration for my designer paper layer. She would take designer paper, tear it then add inking to the edges and create the base layer for her card.

Once the base layer was created on my card, I added bakers twine and this Whipper Snapper image colored with copics. The card was finished with a few glitter stars and the birthday sentiment popped up on dimensionals.

Army Thinking of You

MMTPT856 - Tear or Stitch

CC1031 - Basic White, Night of Navy, Poppy Parade (I realized after I loaded my card for the Teapot Tuesday challenge that I have the colors for the color challenge this week.) Also, I have the dessert for something new as this is a new roll of baker's twine also in the colors.

For my card, I used this great Army stamp from DRS Designs. They have now closed but I still love using their images.

I stamped the image in navy blue then layered it. I added some red, white and blue bakers twine popping the image up on dimensionals.

For the torn edge, I used scissors that create the effect of torn edges on the blue polka dot paper layer. The card was finished with a few scattered stars and the sentiment popped up on dimensionals.

Sailor Girl

MMTPT818 - Wind

For my latest card creation, I opted for this charming Bestie image, which I brought to life with the vibrant hues of Copics. To complement the image, I selected a pair of coordinating papers, layering them meticulously atop a sleek blue cardstock mat for a striking contrast.

Adding a touch of elegance, I affixed a simple "Hello" sentiment, elevated on dimensionals for added depth and visual appeal, completing the card with a flourish.

You are my Hero!

CAS744 - Paperclip

USEIT2023 - Paperclip

For my card I went with a US Navy theme using my new image from DRS Designs. I was so excited for this image as my nephew was in the Navy.

I stamped the image then stamped it again and popped the US Navy up on dimensionals.

Next, I colored the stars, rope and US Navy in yellow and layered the image on a navy blue card stock.

I cut a yellow and Navy strip and attached the image with a fun paper clip from my tote of items.

The card was finished with the You are my Hero! sentiment.

Thank you, to all that served and gave the ultimate sacrifice. You are my HERO!

SC959 - This week's sketch on splitcoaststampers.com

Next I stamped the Army logo and popped that up on dimensionals and added the sentiment.

Patriotic Thank You

MMTPT769 - Patriotic Thank You

I have had this USA stamp from Taylored Expressions for a long time and thought it was time to ink it up. I inked the stars area with blue then very carefully inked the stripes in red.

Once the USA map was stamped I stamped the sentiment on a strip of the white on the flag.

The card was finished with a few gold sequins.

Patriotic Birthday

CAS738 - Female Birthday

I am so thrilled to have a new birthday sentiment. My first thought on this sentiment was to color in the letters. I thought some red, white and blue would be fun.

For my card I stamped the sentiment and cupcake. Then used several reds, blues and greys to color both images.

US Navy

CAS706 - Frame It

I needed a sympathy card for a very dear friend who was in the US Navy and this challenge is perfect to create one.

The base is heat embossed white stars on navy card stock. I then added a white and red layer framing the sympathy layer.

I stamped the sympathy sentiment and the Navy symbol and popped the Navy symbol up on dimensionals.

Here is the inside.

Patriotic

Oh my goodness the Dare to Get Dirty challenges are starting today on splitcoaststampers.com. It is open to all Fan Club members and there are some amazing prizes being given out. We hope you come join the fun.

DTGD22luvtostampstampstampB - Inspiration: Americana - My INSPIRATION

For the card base I stenciled the flag. Next, I stamped the military image from DRS Designs finishing it with the white heat embossed Thanks sentiment.

DTGD22rubyheartedmomB - Trash rescue--use something on your card that you would normally throw away--an image or paper from junk mail, comics, give new life to a store-bought card by adding texture and embellishments, use a found item like an earring, a tiny ice cream sample spoon or other embellishment

This navy image is from an old paper plate. I just could not let it go to the trash so I cut off the image part for a card front.

I finished it with a couple of punched hearts.

Just a Note

SC902 - This Week's Sketch

When I saw the sketch I immediately thought of this star background that I created a couple of weeks ago. I was trying a technique and did not quite get it the way it was described but I did not want to toss the layer because it still was a great background.

I added the star background, die cut the military silhouette and stamped the sentiment.

Thanks

WT890 - Crayon

For my star background I used an emboss folder and a white crayon to do a crayon resist. Once I added the crayon, I used a brayer to add the blue and the stars resisted the ink.

I then die cut the sentiment and anchor.

Thanks

USN

WT853 - Monogram

A friend asked me to create a US Navy Christmas card to give to her aunt. I used my Cricut to cut out this anchor and USN logo. I then stamped the sentiment and printed out the Ship information on the tag. I finished off the card with ribbon on the tag.
