Crusin Father's Day

FS1012 - This week's incredibly talented Featured Stamper is RJP111 aka Robin. I found this INSPIRATION.

I was inspired by the muscle car on Robin’s card and knew this Spellbinders die would be a great fit, so I cut the pieces from blue, black, and silver cardstock and layered them to build the car. The combination of colors gave it a bold, polished look that worked perfectly for the theme.

After assembling the car, I pulled a vintage style paper from the stash I am working through this year and mounted it on silver to echo the metallic accents. I added a blue ombre layer for extra depth, then placed everything on silver and finally a black card base to ground the design.

With the foundation complete, I added dimension by popping up both the car and the sentiment, which gave the finished card a clean, striking presence.

Number One Dad

FS1011 - this week's very talented Featured Stamper is Maja aka TMaja. I found this wonderful INSPIRATION.

I needed a very quick Father's Day card, and Maja's design turned out to be the perfect inspiration. The base immediately reminded me of woodgrain, which felt like such a natural starting point for a Father's Day theme. I pulled a wood patterned sheet from the stack of designer papers I am trying to use up this year, layered it on white for a crisp border, and mounted everything on a blue card base to bring in a bit of contrast.

To tie in the blue, I stamped the Stampin Up ribbon image in a coordinating shade and popped the center up on dimensionals, echoing the look and feel of Maja's original layout. The little bit of lift adds just enough interest without overwhelming the design.

To finish the card, I die cut the word dad from gold glitter paper to create a bold focal point, then added the Happy Father's Day sentiment on dimensionals for one last touch of dimension.

Pappa Bear

WT1108 - Wild Animals

For this card, I started by pulling out the fun Tim Holtz bear die cut and cutting all the layers needed to build him. Piecing him together is always satisfying because the character really comes to life once the shading, shapes, and little details stack into place. His expression has a great mix of whimsy and personality, which makes him an easy focal for a masculine card.

To give him a fitting backdrop, I went through my stash and found a tree patterned designer paper that instantly set the right woodsy tone. The colors in the print echo the browns and neutrals in the bear, which helps everything feel cohesive. I layered the tree paper on kraft cardstock for warmth, then mounted that panel on a brown card base to reinforce the earthy palette and tie the whole design together.

The sentiment is kept simple with a clean Happy Father's Day strip popped up on dimensionals. The added height gives it presence without competing with the bear and keeps the layout balanced.

This card is headed to my son so he can give it to his dad for Father's Day. He has nicknamed him Pappa Bear, so this design could not be more perfect for the occasion.

Fathers Day Golf

FS998 - this week's featured stamper is ggurreri. I found this INSPIRATION.

I was instantly drawn to the golf theme in the inspiration piece and reached for this great golf die set from Spellbinders. I die cut the golf elements, adding shading and highlights to the club before assembling the pieces.

With the focal elements ready, I pulled out the paper pad I am working to finish this year and built the layout using several coordinating scraps. The golf pieces are arranged on a black banner that I white heat embossed with a Father’s Day sentiment, giving the design a crisp, bold finish.

Father's Day

FS996 - This week's incredibly talented Featured Stamper is jtrenn (aka Karen). I found this INSPIRATION.

For this card, the sweet little boat caught my eye and felt like the perfect starting point for a Father’s Day design. I pulled out one of the paper packs I am working through this year and trimmed two coordinating patterns, adding black framing to each layer for crisp definition. The panel is mounted on a blue card base to echo the blue in the background paper.

From the inspiration piece, I chose this retired DRS Designs boat and colored it with Copics, stamping the Happy Father’s Day sentiment beneath it. I trimmed the image with a stitched die and popped it up on dimensionals to give the focal point a bit more lift.

A few scattered sequins finish the card with a simple touch of shine.

Dragon Father's Day

IC1043 - Musubi Kiln and Pinterest - INSPIRATION

For this card, I was inspired by the dragon. I used a beer label from my husband's favorite brew, which has a beautiful shimmer. I layered it onto gold mat cardstock, then die cut the dragon from the same gold mat.

While the dragon was still in the die, I applied VersaMark through the openings and added black heat embossing to create detailed accents.

Both the dragon and the sentiment are popped up on dimensionals to add depth and dimension.

WT1059 - Foil

For my card, I die cut the Creek Bank Creations tool and layered it. Two of the pieces I wanted silver and love putting aluminum foil on cardstock and using that for cards.

Once the drill was pieced together, it was layered on the woodgrain paper and the sentiment and tool were popped up on dimensionals.

FS958 - This week's incredibly talented Featured Stamper Lisa, is better known around here aslczurek. This is my INSPIRATION.

For my card, I used this adorable truck that I purchased from Rubbernecker. They are now called Brass Bliss. The bed of the truck was colored with a copic that I left the streaking so it would look like wood. The truck window is an acetate scrap, and the truck is popped up on dimensionals.

USEIT2024 - Boat die cut

For my card, I had this great boat die cut in my tote of items to use up. It was perfect for a very quick card.

I used some distress oxide ink on a craft mat and spritzed some water on it. I then soaked it up with watercolor paper.

Once dry, I stamped the Father's Day sentiment and layered the boat die cut on the front.

Father's Day

FS859 - This week's incredibly talented Featured Stamper is Girlia. Her gallery is super cute. Here is my INSPIRATION.

I used a different duck cut file from Kadoodlebug for my card. I cut the layers with my Cricut and added some sponging and white highlights to the layers. I added a few dimensionals and layered it on a water wave DP.

The card was finished with my son's handwriting for a Father's Day sentiment. They have a funny relationship and it really brings me joy to see the comedy partnership between the two of them.

Happy Father's Day

CAS685 - Boat/Nautical

It is time for me to get started on Father's Day cards. This SAILBOAT - 887F is perfect for any father in my family.

  • I stamped the SAILBOAT - 887F with memento black ink and colored with copics and added some light sponging for the clouds.
  • Next, the SMALL HAPPY FATHER'S DAY GREETING - 827B was stamped and I used some coordinating blue from the water to color the Father's word.
  • The black card base is embossed with an old Tim Holtz emboss folder on black card stock. I then used metallic rub on and my finger to add the copper to the raised portion of the compass.
