Birthday Pug

WT1103 - Pets

I can never have enough pet challenges for cards, as they give me the opportunity to create dog cards for my pet donation box.

For my card, I pulled out this adorable Simon Says Stamp pug die cut and cut it from two different browns so I could swap the pieces and create a second card at the same time. I paired the pup with more of the brown floss from the back of my chair that I am working to use up, stitching the white layer to add texture and a handmade touch.

The finished panel is layered on a piece of kraft designer cardstock from my stash that I am trying to use up this year, then mounted on a white card base. The pug and the birthday sentiment are both popped up on dimensionals to give the layout a clean lift.

Thank you for stopping by to see my card today. Your thoughtful comments are always appreciated. If you leave a note, a visit to your blog will follow.

For my card, I pulled out some fun designer paper from Unity and trimmed the layers to build the background. I added the panels to a brown card base to echo the warm tones in the puppies and give the layout a grounded look.

The Congratulations sentiment is popped up on dimensionals for a clean, simple finish that lets the patterned paper shine.

This will be another of my pet donation cards.

Scotty Thinking of You

F4A843 - Who Let the Dogs Out

USEIT2026 - Scotty Dog

My card was inspired by the black lab dominating the inspiration panel, which immediately reminded me of the wonderful Scotty Dog die cuts gifted to me by Julia (artystamper). Thank you, Julia. I usually work in smaller formats, so I had been saving these dies, and this challenge gave me the perfect nudge to finally use them.

I trimmed the dog so the front portion fit neatly on the card and chose a fun designer paper to layer over the Scotty silhouette. From there, I placed the dog on a bright gingham background, added the coordinating pieces, and finished the focal point with a punched flower.

The card is completed with the sentiment popped up on dimensionals and a touch of Nuvo Drops added to the eye, nose, and flower for extra detail.

This will be another of my pet donation cards.

Westie

FS1000 - This week's featured stamper is Claudette aka lamoore. I found this INSPIRATION.

I am always drawn to a dog‑themed inspiration card. From Claudette’s design, I chose an all‑over dotted background paper in place of an embossed layer, then added a coordinating dotted panel for the next layer. For the sentiment panel, I used a descriptive designer paper that highlights details about the Westie, pairing it with a Westie image from Hunkydory to keep the theme cohesive.

I shifted the horizontal strip downward, widened it, and pulled colors from the descriptive Westie layer to keep everything unified. A thank you banner and a small top banner repeat those colors for balance. Each layer is trimmed in red to echo the tones in the Westie image, and the card is finished with a scattering of pearls for a soft touch.

This will be another of my pet donation cards.

SC1108 - this week's sketch on splitcoaststampers.com

For my card, I pulled out my Hunkydory images and chose this adorable pup for the focal point. I trimmed the pawprint papers, added a yellow cardstock layer to give the panels a bright highlight, and built the layout around the image.

The card is finished with the sentiment popped up on dimensionals and a touch of black Nuvo Drops on the corners of the image for a clean, balanced accent.

This will be another of my pet donation cards.

CAS892 - Create using Colored Pencil

For today’s card, I pulled out this great retired Impression Obsession image and stamped it on kraft cardstock. I colored the image with pencils and fussy cut the paws for added dimension.

The paws are popped up on dimensionals over a green and white checkered designer paper, giving the layout a playful lift. The card is finished with a Congratulations sentiment to complete the design.

This will be another of my pet donation cards.

For today’s card, I pulled out more pawprint paper and used it to build the layout, adding black cardstock to give the layers extra pop. I then die cut the Hunkydory image, layered it on black, and set it in place as the focal point.

The card is finished with a Congratulations sentiment popped up on dimensionals and a few hearts to echo the green in the pawprints.

Beagle Thanks

IC1058 - Barn and Bunkie - INSPIRATION

F4A838 - 3 of a kind (Candy Dots)

For my card, I was inspired by the beagle on the napkin and reached for a Hunkydory beagle image to echo that sweet look. I also pulled out a paper pad from the stack I am working to use up this year, trimmed the coordinating patterns, and layered them on blue cardstock to give the design a bit of extra pop before adding the beagle on top.

The card is finished with a thank you sentiment popped up on dimensionals and a few blue and white candy dots for a touch of added interest.

This will be another of my pet donation cards.

For my card, I reached for my trusty Hunkydory dog images and selected this adorable beagle, trimming it out and layering it on a brown mat.

CAS887 - Large Sentiment Stamp

For my card, I pulled out one of my favorite dog die cuts and cut it from black cardstock. I used the Baker's Twine technique by layering the twine behind the negative space of the dog to create texture and contrast.

The card was finished with a large Congratulations sentiment from Stampin Up, white heat embossed beneath the focal image.

This will be another of my pet donation cards.

With Sympathy Pup

SC1100 - this week's sketch on splitcoaststampers.com

For this card, I started with a pawprint patterned paper for the base and layered it on black and white cardstock. The white layer was die cut and then embossed with a pawprint folder to add texture.

The dog image from Hunkydory is layered on black cardstock and popped up on dimensionals for depth.

To finish the design, the sentiment was stamped in white, layered on black, and popped up on dimensionals to coordinate with the focal image.

Thinking of You Pup

SC1099 - this week's sketch on splitcoaststampers.com

For this card, I followed the sketch to create another pet donation design. The image is from Hunkydory and is layered on paw‑print designer paper. I added a second paw‑print pattern to the corners, and both the image panel and corner pieces are sponged with black ink to help them stand out.

The finished panel is layered on black cardstock, and both the sentiment and the image are popped up on dimensionals for added depth.

This card will be another of my pet donation cards.

CAS883 - Pets

For this card, I used a wonderful retired image from Impression Obsession, stamped in Memento ink on kraft cardstock. The image is colored with pencils, which adds a soft, textured look to the design.

After the coloring was complete, I finished the card with a birthday sentiment from Stampin’ Up.

For this card, I started with a beautiful panel from Hunkydory and die cut the focal image from it, popping the piece up on dimensionals to add depth. The remaining panel is layered on black cardstock and then on a heart‑shaped layer.

The heart features a sympathy sentiment, and the entire design is finished on a paw‑print background panel framed with black and red cardstock.

For this card, I used an adorable doghouse die from My Favorite Things and cut the layers from a mix of scrap papers. The doghouse is set against a soft cloud‑patterned background and framed with a bold red panel. The dog image is from Xcut.

To finish the design, I added a sentiment from Dare 2B Artzy and a few punched hearts for a simple, cheerful touch.

WT1086 - New Beginnings

For this card, I created a design inspired by the New Beginnings challenge, using a new die cut to craft a playful dog theme. The bone and bow pieces were cut, then enhanced with sponging and white highlights to bring depth and detail. The bow was raised with dimensionals, adding extra interest to the layered elements.

The focal panel is set against paw print paper, while the "Congratulations" sentiment was die cut and layered in red cardstock to provide a bold pop of color.

To finish, I added a few gold sequin hearts from my stash, giving the card a touch of sparkle and helping me use up some of those treasured embellishments.
