Love Birds

WT1097 - Birds (Swallows return to SJC)

For today’s card, I pulled out this wonderful die set from Honey Bee Stamps and cut each layer from white cardstock. I sponged on the colors and pieced the birds together, letting the shading bring out their detail.

The birds are layered on white cardstock and framed with a pink panel for a soft, coordinated look.

I then placed the finished birds on this gorgeous, patterned paper my son gave me for Christmas, layering everything on pink and white cardstock to tie the colors together.

The card is finished with a Valentine sentiment popped up on dimensionals and several heart candy dots for a sweet final touch.

Love Heart

CAS890 - Timber

USEIT2026 - Heart

For today’s card, I started with a white card base and a white die‑cut panel, popping the panel up on dimensionals for subtle depth.

I have a collection of wood hearts in my tote to use up, and I chose this one for the focal point. I flanked the heart with a few red pearls and finished the design with a sentiment banner tucked beneath the heart.

Valentine Love

F4A833 - Valentine

MIX680 - Love Your Art

I began with a kraft cardstock panel already embossed with hearts, trimming it to size and distressing all the edges for added texture.

From there, I layered a doily from my stash, then die cut a large black heart as the main anchor. Over that, I added an embossed red heart and brushed black ink across the raised areas to bring out the detail.

To finish the card, I added the Valentine sentiment and a cupid die cut, both popped up on dimensionals for depth.

Gothic Valentines Day

WT1091 - Ribbon

USEIT2026 - Paper clip, Key, Earrings

For this card, I am truly delighted with how everything came together. I began by weaving a purple satin ribbon to create the base, then layered it on a punched white lace cardstock. That panel was placed on a coordinating purple layer and finally mounted on a black card base.

Next, I added the love paper clip from my magic tote of items and accented it with a white heart made from an old earring my aunt had given me. A black satin bow was layered on top, finished with a black bead earring for added texture and interest.

Tucked beneath the bow is a small tag that was embossed on white cardstock and layered on black. The purple heart was stamped in black ink, and I die cut two additional hearts, one in black and one in purple, layering them together and topping the stack with a small key.

The card is finished with a Happy Valentine's Day sentiment popped up on dimensionals.

This card was created for my son to give to his wife for Valentine’s Day, and I designed it with a gothic feel since they both love that style and my son especially loves purple.

With All My Heart

WT1089 - Postage

For this card, I used a Waffle Flower stencil and die set, blending five different Distress Oxide colors through the stencil to create the stamped images. After the panel was inked, I cut it with the coordinating postage‑style die.

With the background complete, I added several of the individual postage stamps across the panel. The With All My Heart sentiment was stamped separately and popped up on dimensionals for added lift.

The finished panel is layered on black cardstock and then mounted onto a white card base.

Happy Valentines Day

FS989 - this week's very talented featured stamper is Teri, better known around SCS as TeriJ. Here is my INSPIRATION

I was drawn to the theme of love with Valentine's Day approaching, and instead of following the original monochromatic blue palette, I shifted the colors to better suit the season. I loved the tilted "love" on the inspiration card, so I echoed that angle by tilting my layered hearts and sentiment. Teri also used a beautiful doily on her card, and that detail inspired me to pull one from my stash and tuck it beneath the heart cluster.

The layered hearts and die-cut cherub sit on a heart‑embossed kraft panel with distressed edges, which is then mounted on red and black card bases for contrast and depth. Both the sentiment and cherub are popped up on dimensionals to add lift and interest.

A couple of gold glitter hearts finish the design with a touch of sparkle.

SC1097 - this week's sketch challenge on splitcoaststampers.com

For this card, I used a die from Simon Says Stamp that allows me to create my own cross‑stitch patterns. I found a heart design online that was slightly too large for an A2 card front, so I resized the pattern to fit a 4.25 x 5.5 panel. The heart is stitched in pink, purple, and white.

After the stitching was complete, I added a purple frame followed by a white frame and layered everything onto the finished panel.

In case anyone wonders the amount of time to stitch an entire panel and create a full background when there is no clear pattern, this took about 10 hours. The very special person getting this card is absolutely worth the effort.

IC1049 - Factory Direct Crafts - INSPIRATION.

This card was inspired by the stacked hearts from my inspiration photo, so the design began with a collection of punched hearts made from paper scraps. Five hearts were glued together to form each dimensional piece. Once the hearts were assembled, score lines were added to a white cardstock panel to create subtle texture, and the stacked hearts were adhered in place.

After the hearts were secured, the entire panel was painted with red acrylic paint, followed by a soft white acrylic wash. While the paint was still wet, gold leaf flakes were pressed into the surface so they would dry into the background and add a touch of shimmer.

The card was completed with an XOXO die cut and a Happy Valentine’s Day sentiment popped up on dimensionals for added depth.

Valentine Heart

IC1045 - Little Obsessed and Pinterest - INSPIRATION

For this card, I drew inspiration from the colors on a trivia box and selected patterned papers that echoed its palette. The layers were accented with white and bold pink, while the heart was raised on dimensionals and paired with a Valentine’s sentiment.

To complete the design, I added punched flowers and leaves around the heart, finishing them with Nuvo Drops for a touch of shine and dimension.

Cheers for Valentine's Day

F4A821 - For the Boys

MIX668 - Highlights

For my card, I used a fabulous die cut set from Spellbinders. I cut the individual pieces, sponged the drink for added depth, and layered everything together. The arrow is die cut from gold glitter paper, and I repurposed the negative space as one of the background layers to add extra sparkle. The drink glass is positioned over a half doily for a touch of texture and elegance.

To accent the hearts, I added white highlights using a gel pen.

The sentiment is stamped in red ink and popped up on dimensionals for added dimension and focus.

Valentine With a Fun Fold

IC1023 - Kuyike & Pinterest - INAPIRATION

I loved the all over hearts and used that for my inspiration. I grabbed this all over heart paper for the base then added the die cut hearts embossing the white layer and added a few dimensionals.

Next, I die cut the sentiment layer stamping a Valentine sentiment and then finished the card with a few candy dots.

For the inside:

I created a W fold for the inside and brought the hearts paper to one of the W panels added a white layer for a sentiment and a couple of additional die cuts to decorate the W layers. The W layer was layered on a polka dot paper to bring more interest to the inside of the card.

The W Fold is a 1 3/4″ x 11″ and it is scored at 2 3/4″, 5 1/2″ and 8 1/4″.

IC1000 - Halmark & Pintrist - INSPIRATION

F4A780 - The Letter H - Heart and Hearts

MIX627 - Inspire Your Heart with Art (I am inspired by every Halmark love movie)

For my card, I was inspired by the layout of the hearts from the inspiration. I made another card recently using this same technique. It is a fun technique and a great way to use up a bunch of small hearts that I punch out of my scrap paper.

I learned this technique more than 5 years ago. The technique used die cuts but I again used scrap punched hearts. I layered them gluing 5 high. Next, I used my score tool to score the lines on white cardstock. I then laid out the hearts on the card front.

Die Cut Relief Tutorial - Splitcoaststampers

Once the glue was dry, I used red acrylic paint for the first layer then I used watered down pink and ran it over the top of the hearts. Finally, while it was still damp, I used gold foil flakes.

The card was finished with The Ton die cut XOXO and the sentiment popped up on dimensionals.

Love Bug

FS938 - This week's amazing, featured stamper is Mac aka mac4551. I have been a long-time stalker of her fantastic gallery. I found this INSPIRATION.

I love the use of the beetle bug on that card and used it as my inspiration for my card.

I used this fun Cherry Lynn Designs die cut cutting all the pieces and layering it. I then die cut a large heart stamped the sentiment and punched a few additional black hearts. I added a few pearls and popped a few items up on dimensionals.

Be Mine

FS937 - This week's incredibly talented Featured stamper is Sue. Here is my INSPIRATION.

USEIT2025 - Wood Hearts

I was inspired by the plaid on Sue's card and pulled out a scrap of pink plaid paper. My MIL gave me an envelope punch board for Christmas and I just had to try it. I love it so much and hope to use it on more cards in the future.

Once the envelope was created, I tucked a few hearts in it including a couple of wood embellishments that are in my tote to use up.

I then stamped the sentiment from Pink and Main on the top of the envelope.

I finished the card with a few smaller die cut hearts and the valentine sentiment.
