Week of 7/28/18 cards

FS598 - Today's featured stamper is Jill aka JD from PAUSA. She has an amazing gallery of cards to inspire. I found this CARD.

This has been an incredibly difficult week with good friends passing, relatives and friends relatives. I am not sure that I have ever needed to put together so many sympathy cards in one week.

I was inspired by the CAS style card of Jill's card. I did not ink up the folder just embossed and layered and added the sentiment.

CAS Sympathy
 CAS491 - Plaid

I am still working my way through the stash of stuff that I want to get used up and came across these sewing images and thought they were perfect for the CAS challenge. They each have just a touch of plaid and I added a quilt emboss folder with more plaid in the BG.

Each of them have a few layers on the images to give them a 3D effect and I am happy to have the cards made and these off my desk.

Thank You Sew Much
 MMTPT522 - Use Only 3

Stamped the flower with blue ink on the flowers and green ink on the stem and leaf. Die cut the sentiment and finished off with sequins.

Sympathy
 WT698 - It's Hot & Sticky

Stamped the house mouse image and colored with copics. Die cut the image and layered on dimensionals. Finished off with the star sequins.

The Tassel
 F4A440 - Winged Things

This Heartfelt Creations card is a card kit. They are no longer selling the card kits so I am putting them in my pile of stuff to use up this year and get made. They come already cut and with a layout all you need to do is color, shape and put together. So while they are already cut and you have a layout there is still a bit of work.

Colored the flowers and shaped, sponged the edges and layered, finished off with prills and glitter.

Birds of a Feather
IC660 - Plow & Hearth where I found this great PILLOW

I am trying to use stuff up and these Green Duck Embellishments are the last set I have to use. When I saw the pillow it reminded me of the super leaves in these embellishments.

Layered the bear embellishments on the extra leaves with dimensionals then stacked the layers. Finished off with ribbon.

Week of 7/21/18 cards

FS597 is the super talented Selma Stevenson, better known around here as Selma. where I found this amazing Card

JUL18VSNH - A Hunting We Will Go

Reminds of Summer - flowers & Wedding
Find on a hike - flowers
Find in a hotel - flowers
You'd see on a road trip - flowers or a wedding
You'd describe as a lifesaver - a spouse
You'd see on a postcard - flowers

In Selma's card her paper had tiny black triangles. I die cut the BG with a diamond cut and layered on dimensionals. Used an oval frame as Selma had and popped it on dimensionals. Finished off with a lace ribbon and flowers.

Mr & Mrs
 MMTPT521 - Troubled Waters

Cut down the DP and popped the frame on dimensionals. stamped and colored the flamingo, shaped I mounted on dimensionals. Stamped and cut the flowers, shaped, added prills and finished off with glitter.

Cheery Hello
 SC706 - Today's Sketch

This card is from one of the Card kits from Heartfelt Creations. They come stamped and cut which saves some time but you still have to color, shape, mount and add glitter to complete them. So while they are already stamped and cut there is still a bit of work to put them together and I always love how they come out.

Sponged the edges of the papers and mounted. Popped the circle image on dimensionals. Glued down the sentiment and lace border. Colored, shaped and glued the flowers. Finished off with the glitter on the flowers.

The butterfly was an after thought. I accidently dropped some glue on that corner and messed up the paper. So us crafters what do we do, we improvise and I think this turned out perfect and it worked for the sketch as well.

Butterflies
 WT697 - Be a Happy campers

Stamped the sentiment and die cut, left in die cut and sponged green. Embossed the shoe prints on the craft, cut down layers and added a few leaves from my scrap bin.

My MIL needed a few hiking thank you cards for her hiking friends and these are totally her style card.

Hiking Thank You
IC659 - US Mint Sheets Site where I found these Lacy Stamps.

A couple of weeks ago I got a call for some birthday cards and they needed them right away. When I went to my stash I found that several family members had raided all my birthday cards and I was completely out. Well I have been working on rebuilding my birthday stash. Seeing the lacy stamps made me think of this CARD with the lace trimmed edge. I am also trying to use up these dimensional flowers in my stash.

Punched the lace border and mounted on colored CS, die cut the sentiment strips and mounted on dimensionals and finished off with the flowers.

Week of 7/14/18

VSN is going on at Spiltcoast Stampers and I did a bunch of cards this week. We hope you come play along in the fun challenges.
FS596 - Today's Featured Stamper is Mary (redi2stamp). I have loved so many great cards from Mary. Today I drew inspiration from this super sweet CARD.

I loved the great heart and the paw print. I turned the card and added a red heart with some die cut dog images (I made 5 for my monthly donation). Added paw print paper to the bottom rather than the embossed panel and finished off with this wonderful sympathy sentiment from Dare 2 Be Artzy.

Pet Sympathy

I hosted the Teapot Tuesday challenge this week.

MMTPT520 - Craft A Card

Stamped the tree stump and the bird and colored with copics. Cut the layers and added a doily. Added glitter hearts to the tree stump. I also dug really deep for a lace table runner and trimmed the paper layers with the lace table runner. Finished off with pearls and ribbon.

Super quick cards for me today. These giant leather flowers were given to me about 10 years ago from my mom. These are the last two of them. They took up a bunch of space in a drawer in my craft room and I am happy to have them used up.

Die cut the border of the purple paper, tied a ribbon bow and stamped the sentiment. Finished off with the leather flowers.

I hosted this challenge for Staycation:

 JUL18VSNG - Holiday World

CCC18JUN - Change up a card from Last Year

This image was already colored sitting on my desk to put on a card. I have a large stack of colored images that make it quick to make cards when I am in a hurry and doing VSN is sure when they come in handy. I take my coloring pencils on road trips and then have a few colored waiting for cards.

Used this darling Stampin Bella image and cut down the side with a die cut that mirrored the waves in the image skirt. Added a black layer and then the white lace layer. Finished off with the sticker.

This is my little guy and his very first card. He made it for the VSN challenge for kids.

 JUL18VSNKIDS - Soap Bubble Art

This is my little guy's first card ever. He was so excited to play in my craft room to do this art project that he decided to make it to a card. I will upload a couple of pictures to my blog tomorrow of him doing a couple of steps to make this card. I hope he comes to play in my craft room with me again. :)

He did the bubble art technique from the video description on the VSN challenge for the BG. He used blue paint and water color paper. Once done he cut down the layers and stamped the sentiment. He thought it looked like pool water and added a fun pool sticker from my stash.

 JUL18VSNL - Coffee Break

IC658 - Zazzle Souvenirs where I found this MUG

Stamped the image and colored with copics. Cut down the layers and the sentiment.

Coffee?

 JUL18VSNM - Lemony Yellow

The challenge is Lemony Yellow. Now you ask why I am adding a blue card....My goal for 2018 is to use stuff up. These die cut borders were sent to me in a teapot exchange some time ago and I thought it was time to use them. Well when I saw the challenge I made the yellow and thought I should just finish off the second die cut to get them off my desk. So yes I am cheating and loading 2 cards but they are the exact same one yellow for the challenge and one blue to use stuff up. :) I hope there are no challenge police here.

Birthday Flowers

 JUL18VSNN - Staycation Passport

Stamped this super cute image from IO created by our own resident artist Dini (Dina) from IO. Colored with copics. Fussy cut the image and popped on dimensionals on craft that was run through with the wood EF. Cut the frame and added the sentiment.
