WT1116 - Edge Treatments

For my card, I pulled out one of my favorite Heartfelt Creations die sets and used it to create the arched card base from a beautiful white shimmer paper. I continued building the structure with several blue and white shimmer arched layers, giving the card a soft, elegant stacked effect.

Next, I die cut the Congratulations sentiment panel from the same blue cardstock and added dimensionals to lift the layers and create depth. For the floral accents, I die cut all the flower pieces, sponged them with shades of blue and purple, shaped and layered them, and then moved on to the leaves, adding touches of yellow and green before shaping those as well. Each flower was hot glued to the card for a sturdy hold, and I tucked in a few white twigs before finishing the blooms with Stickles for a lovely shimmer.

For my card, I pulled out a wood‑themed paper pad I am working to use up this year and trimmed the base layers, stacking them on white cardstock and then a brown card base for a warm, rustic foundation. Next, I cut several rust‑colored pieces for the layout and added white panels with hand‑drawn dashing to give those layers a little extra charm and texture.

To finish the card, I die cut several Spellbinders garden pieces using the same rust tones along with a touch of silver mirror cardstock. I added dimensionals to a few of the elements for depth, then shaped the flowers and topped them with Nuvo Drops for a soft, polished finish.

CAS909 - Dog Days of Summer- Dogs or Summer Fun 

I love a good dog challenge because it always gives me the chance to create another pet donation card. For this one, I started with a watercolor panel and brushed on a soft rainbow wash for the background. Once it dried, I die cut the paw prints from black cardstock and layered the watercolor panel behind them so the colors peek through each opening.

To finish the card, I die cut a white poodle and popped it up on dimensionals along with the With Sympathy sentiment, giving the design a gentle lift.

This will be another of my pet donation cards.

FS1016 - this week's very talented, featured stamper is MN_Stamper also known here as Patti. I found this INSPIRATION.

Inspired by the cheerful row of colorful boots, I decided to switch the idea to a playful row of colorful ties using this classic Stampin Up stamp that features a full line of ties. I set the stamp and cardstock in place with my Misti, then masked and unmasked each tie so I could ink and stamp them one at a time, choosing a different bright color for each to create a lively rainbow effect. After the ties were finished, I added the birthday sentiment and trimmed the panel for a clean look.

The ties are popped up on dimensionals and set over a piece of designer paper from my stash that I am working to use up this year, then mounted on a white cardstock base. A single red pearl on the center tie adds a simple finishing touch and a bit of sparkle.

For my card, I was inspired by this wonderful flamingo image and knew it needed a bright, cheerful setting. I pulled out this cute Heartfelt Creations stamp, colored it with Copics, and die cut it to give it a clean, finished look.

From there, I dug into the stack of papers I’m trying to use up and found a couple of fun, vibrant patterns that felt perfect for the playful feel of the image. I added coordinating layering papers behind each piece to give everything a bit more definition.

To tie the design together, I stamped the birthday sentiment in pink to echo the pinks in the papers, then popped the flamingo up on dimensionals to make it stand out on the panel. A few gold mirror candy dots add just the right touch of shine to finish the card.

F4A857 - Me Time - What makes me happy creating is being inspired by something.

MIX704 - Sky's the Limit

For this card, the whole idea started with my hubby. He bought a beer from a company called Pax Beer, and after finishing one, he handed me the can with a grin and said, "Could you make a card with this?" Well of course, babe. The label was so fun, and I knew immediately it needed to be the star of a project.

A few days later, while sorting my craft room for what feels like the thousandth time, I came across a paper pad from Michaels that hubby had picked out. I held the label next to the paper and thought, "Self, that is a perfect match." Sometimes the best pairings happen by accident.

I carefully removed the label from the can and mounted it onto cardstock for stability. After trimming it down, I rounded the top corners to soften the look and give it a more finished feel.

Next, I cut the designer paper and layered it on black cardstock to echo the black elements in the label. The whole panel is mounted on a purple card base, which pulls out the rich tones in the artwork and gives the card a bold, striking foundation.

The birthday sentiment is popped up on dimensionals for a bit of lift, and the "Dream Big" sentiment part of the designer paper pad was trimmed down and layered on black as well. It adds a fun, inspirational touch that complements the label beautifully.

WT1115 - Lets go Faux, any if the faux techniques on SCS or from your own repertoire. I chose Faux Stamped Leather

For my card, I pulled out this great leaf image from DRS Designs and used it to create the Faux Stamped Leather technique, which gives such a rich, textured look. Once the panel was finished, I die cut the layer and paired it with a wonderful silhouette image from Impression Obsession. I stamped the cowboy on white cardstock, then die cut both the image and the black mat using stitched dies for a clean, finished edge.

To complete the design, I added a double‑banner birthday sentiment and tucked it under the cowboy silhouette panels for a subtle layered detail. The finished pieces are mounted on a simple black card base, giving the earthy tones and strong silhouettes a bold, striking punch.

When I saw Barbaras card, the cheerful polka dot paper immediately caught my eye. I remembered this playful print tucked in the paper pad I am working through this year, and it felt like the perfect moment to bring it out. I adjusted the layout a bit to suit my supplies and added a floral strip for a touch of color and movement. The sweet dog image from Impression Obsession paired with the uplifting sentiment creates a bright and happy focal point that feels ideal for someone who could use a little encouragement.

The image is colored with copics and layered on soft blue to keep the look light. I had such a lovely time creating this special birthday card. I began by digging into my tote of items I am trying to use up, and I found a generous stack of flowers and leaves that felt perfect for a milestone celebration. It is always satisfying to give those saved pieces a new life, especially when they come together so beautifully on a finished card.

My inspiration featured lovely flowers, and I used that idea as the starting point for my own design. I arranged the blooms and greenery around the birthday greeting, adjusting the placement until everything felt balanced and full. The soft colors and layered petals created a gentle frame that draws the eye right to the sentiment, while the added number element gives the card a personal touch for this special 80th birthday.

With that in mind, I reached for a cheerful paper pad I am trying to use up and trimmed one of the patterns so it would resemble a bright sun rising over my little scene. The layers are framed with a soft blue that gives everything a gentle glow and then mounted on a crisp white card base.

Next, I pulled out a wonderful Spellbinders die set and cut the pieces from colors that mirror the shades in the designer paper. A bit of shading on several of the elements adds depth and helps them stand out against the background. Once the pieces were ready, I arranged them across the sunny designer paper, letting the colors play together.

For my cards, I pulled out some pawprint paper and then spotted this blue gingham piece that felt like it was just waiting to be used. The sketch is perfect for creating two cards at once, and since I am working to build up my pet donation cards, getting a pair out of one design is always a win.

Once I cut all the pieces for the fronts, I swapped the top and bottom panels between the two cards to give each one a slightly different look. I layered everything on black cardstock for contrast and then mounted the panels on white card bases for a clean finish.

Next, I die cut the sentiment panels, added a simple With Sympathy sentiment, and popped them up on dimensionals to give the design a gentle lift.

For my card, I glanced at my desk and found a little pile of die cuts practically begging to be used. I had several white love die cuts along with a single red one, so I stacked all the white pieces together to build dimension, then offset the red layer on top to create a bold shadow effect that really makes the sentiment pop.

Next, I die cut the word You from gold glitter paper and layered it over the love stack, giving the whole sentiment a bright, eye-catching finish.

To keep the look striking and modern, I placed the completed die cuts on a black card base, letting the contrast make the red and gold shine even more.

I have been slowly working my way through several selected paper pads over the last few weeks, and the inspiration piece today immediately caught my eye. The background behind the card had the same feel as this floral print in one of the pads I am trying to finish, so it was the perfect excuse to pull it out again. I cut the layers in a similar layout and added tan and white accents to give each panel a clean, framed look. Since the inspiration also included a polka dot pattern behind the sentiment, I made sure to echo that detail in my own design.

Once the layout was assembled, I adhered it to a tan card base for a warm foundation. I added the Thank You sentiment on gold glitter paper and popped it up on dimensionals so it would stand out against the patterned layers. To finish the card, I tucked in a few white flowers from my stash along with some delicate twigs, then added Nuvo Drops to the flower centers for a soft, polished touch.

I trimmed the paper to size, layered it on black cardstock for contrast, and mounted everything onto a bold red card base.

I realized I had not used this fun Art Impressions image in years, and she felt absolutely perfect for this challenge. I stamped her on white cardstock and colored her with Copics, letting the bright tones bring out her personality. For the panel, I did an out‑of‑the‑box cut to trim the image back just enough to layer her over a purple and white checkered designer paper. I tore the upper right corner, sponged it with black Distress Oxide, and added a touch of gold Stickles for a playful, distressed sparkle. For even more fun, I stamped the birthday sentiment, tore the edge, and gave it the same black‑and‑gold treatment so everything ties together.

IC1074 - The Little Green Bean - INSPIRATION

I was inspired by the adorable snowman table runner and knew it was the perfect excuse to pull out one of my favorite Stampin' Up snowman images. I stamped him on white cardstock and brought him to life with Copics, keeping the colors soft and wintery.

The finished image is layered over a blue plaid panel and framed with light blue cardstock for a crisp, frosty feel. From there, I set it against a tan plaid designer paper and mounted everything onto a coordinating light blue card base to tie the whole palette together.

For the finishing touches, I added a simple Merry Christmas sentiment and a scattering of light blue punched snowflakes just enough detail to echo the snowy theme without overwhelming the sweet image.

F4A854 - Nursery Rhymes / Children's Songs - I chose The Wheels On the Bus

It has become a cherished tradition for me to create a new Bus Christmas Card for my sister each year. She is a bus mechanic, so designing something special and bus themed has turned into one of my favorite holiday projects. This year’s card features a bright school bus die cut from Echo Park. I cut all the layers, assembled them, and added a thin black liner around the windows to give them a crisp, finished look.

Two years ago I ordered a custom Pike stamp from Magnuson Custom Stamps, since Pike is the school district where she works. I used that stamp again this year and white heat embossed it onto the bumper. It is a small detail, but it adds such a personal touch.

For the tires, I used a fun find from last year. My mom discovered a tire tread stamp, and I clear embossed the tires with it to give them a realistic textured shine. The School Bus sentiment comes from Trinity Stamps. The challenge with that stamp is that it is a full bus image, so I have to ink only the sentiment and carefully trim it out. I finally ordered a dedicated School Bus sentiment stamp from Magnuson Custom Stamps for next year’s cards, which will make that step much easier.

To add dimension, I separated the top and bottom portions of the bus die cut and popped the front section up on dimensionals. It gives the bus a nice layered look without overwhelming the design.

This year’s card also includes a die cut Christmas present with a glittery bow for a festive touch. To finish everything off, I added a stamped Merry Christmas sentiment and popped it up on dimensionals as well. It is always a joy to create these cards, and I love how this year’s design turned out.

WT1112 - Repeat After Me

For my card, I pulled out this great slot machine die cut from Honey Bee Stamps and had such a fun time piecing it together. I cut all the layers from a mix of scrap papers, letting the different textures and colors build a playful, assembled look that feels just right for a slot machine theme.

To give the machine more personality, I added white highlights to several of the pieces, creating the look of shine and giving the whole focal point a lively, dimensional feel.

I layered the finished slot machine over a love and playing card patterned paper, then framed it with gold mirror cardstock for a bold metallic pop. Everything is mounted on a black card base, which grounds the design and makes the colors and shine stand out even more.
