SC1117 - This week's sketch on splitcoaststampers.com
For this card, I started by pulling out one of my favorite paw print papers and layering it on black cardstock to give the pattern a crisp frame. The contrast helps the design pop against the clean white card base and sets up a strong foundation for the focal point.
While looking through my stash, I found this Hunkydory dog image that felt perfect for the center of the layout. The soft colors and sweet expression make it an easy focal and popping it up on dimensionals gives it just enough lift to stand out from the patterned background without overwhelming it.
To finish the design, I added a simple sentiment, also popped up on dimensionals to echo the height of the focal panel. A few Nuvo Drops bring in a touch of shine and balance the layout, giving the card a polished, finished look.
Thank you for stopping by to see my card today. Your thoughtful comments are always appreciated. If you leave a note, a visit to your blog will follow.
