SC1137 - this week's sketch on splitcoaststampers.com
For today's card, I pulled out this absolutely sweet Hunkydory dog image and immediately knew it needed to be the star of the design. I trimmed the image with a circle die and then created a larger black mat to help frame and showcase all of the adorable details.
To build the background, I reached for one of my favorite paw print patterned papers and paired it with a beautiful piece of handmade paper along the left side of the card. The combination of the playful paw prints and the wonderful texture of the handmade paper adds both interest and charm while keeping the focus on the lovable pup.
The dog image was popped up with dimensionals for added depth and dimension. I then added a burlap banner, which brings a rustic touch to the design, and finished it with a thank you sentiment layered on top and also raised with dimensionals. The extra dimension helps draw the eye right to the sentiment and gives the card a fun, interactive feel.
To complete the card, the finished panel was layered onto black cardstock and then attached to a crisp white card base. The mix of textures, patterns, and dimension came together beautifully, creating a heartfelt thank you card that any dog lover would be delighted to receive.
Thank you for stopping by to see my card today. Your thoughtful comments are always appreciated. If you leave a note, a visit to your blog will follow.
