FF26annsforte3B - Blue and white only Christmas Card

For this card, I started with a white card base and embossed it using a birch embossing folder. The embossed background adds wonderful texture and creates the perfect winter woodland setting for the focal scene. Even though the design is fairly simple, the added dimension from the embossing gives the card plenty of visual interest.

Next, I cut a small navy blue panel measuring approximately 2" x 3" and used die cuts to create a peaceful winter scene featuring trees and a sleigh. The deep blue background creates the look of an evening sky, while the layered die cuts add depth and detail. To make the sleigh stand out, I popped it up on dimensionals, giving the scene a little extra dimension and helping draw the eye to the focal point.

To finish the panel, I stamped a Merry Christmas sentiment onto the snowy hillside and added white gel pen accents to the navy background to create the look of falling snow and distant stars. The completed scene stands out beautifully against the birch-embossed background, creating a festive holiday card that captures the quiet beauty of a winter evening.

FF26CreepsMomB - Kids holiday ex: Halloween Thanksgiving Christmas (even a fall Birthday)

IC1089 - Motawi Tileworks - INSPIRATION

For my card, I decided to create a Fall Birthday card. My son has always enjoyed Halloween-themed birthday cards, so this design was the perfect combination of spooky fun and birthday celebration. I stamped this great Inkadinkado image onto white cardstock using black ink and then sponged yellow, brown, and black inks around the edges. The blended colors helped create a moody autumn feel while drawing attention to the focal image.

Once the image panel was complete, I trimmed it to size and layered it onto black cardstock. I then popped the panel up on dimensionals for added depth and placed it at an angle over a background of black and gray designer papers. The angled layout adds movement to the design and enhances the Halloween feel. Before adhering the focal panel, I tucked a birthday sentiment strip underneath, allowing it to peek out from the side and balance the overall composition.

To finish the card, the designer paper panel was layered onto tan cardstock and then attached to a black card base. The tan layer helps soften the darker colors while still maintaining the fall theme. With its combination of spooky Halloween elements and a festive birthday greeting, this card is a fun way to celebrate an autumn birthday and is sure to be a hit with any Halloween fan.

FF26MissBoo - Leafy Autumn Background (Ideas: stamping, stenciling, embossing, patterned paper)

For this card, I pulled out one of the beautiful paper pads that my husband gifted me and found this gorgeous leaf-patterned paper. The rich colors and detailed design were perfect for an autumn-themed birthday card, so I decided to let the paper take center stage. I cut the designer paper into three separate panels and layered each one onto blue cardstock. The panels were then matted with gold mirror cardstock before being attached to a white card base. The gold accents add a touch of elegance while helping highlight the warm fall colors found in the paper.

To complement the background, I die cut a Happy Birthday sentiment from gold mirror cardstock. The sentiment was layered onto a white shadow layer and then a blue layer, helping it coordinate with the colors used throughout the card. The combination of the gold, white, and blue creates a polished focal point that stands out beautifully against the patterned paper panels.

To finish the card, I added dashed lines around the sentiment to create the look of stitching. This simple detail adds a bit of texture and interest while tying the design together. Sometimes a gorgeous piece of designer paper does most of the work, and this card is a perfect example of how a few layers and carefully chosen accents can create an elegant and eye-catching birthday card.

FF26taclaryB - Use a napkin for your background

For this card, I pulled out a gorgeous holly napkin that immediately caught my eye with its beautiful holiday design. Napkins can make wonderful focal points for cards, and this one was perfect for creating an elegant Christmas project. To give the delicate napkin more stability, I adhered it to a piece of white cardstock before trimming it to size. The finished panel was then layered onto gold mirror cardstock, which adds a lovely touch of shine and helps highlight the festive colors in the holly design. The panel was then mounted onto a green card base, creating a classic Christmas color combination.

To finish the card, I stamped a Merry Christmas sentiment in red ink and layered it onto a piece of gold mirror cardstock to coordinate with the matting. The sentiment was then popped up on dimensionals, adding depth and helping it stand out against the decorative background. The combination of the beautiful holly imagery, sparkling gold accents, and traditional Christmas colors creates a simple yet elegant holiday card that lets the napkin design take center stage.

FF26vikkijoB - Sketch, Lets go way back to the beginning SC01, with a Christmas/Winter Theme

SC01 - splitcoaststampers.com first sketch

For this card, I started with a beautiful silver and white tree designer paper and layered it onto blue cardstock before attaching it to a white card base. The soft winter colors and elegant tree pattern create a wonderful holiday backdrop while giving the card a clean and sophisticated feel.

To add another layer of interest, I selected a coordinating Christmas paper from the same collection and used it to create the center panel. Using papers from the same pack helps tie the design together while allowing the different patterns to complement one another perfectly.

For the focal point, I pulled out a Spellbinders ornament die set and die cut the ornament pieces from white cardstock, blue cardstock, and some of the coordinating designer paper. To add a touch of sparkle, I incorporated silver glitter cardstock accents into the ornament layers. The variety of papers and textures gives the ornaments beautiful dimension and visual interest. The center ornament was popped up on dimensionals, helping it stand out and become the focal point of the card.

The combination of the elegant tree-patterned paper, layered ornaments, and sparkling silver accents creates a festive Christmas card with a classic holiday feel. The dimensional center ornament adds just the right amount of depth, while the coordinating papers keep the design cohesive and polished.
