Open...If You Dare...

CAS921 - Halloween

For this card, I began with a white cardstock panel and added a spiderweb embossing to give the background a wonderfully spooky texture. I trimmed the embossed piece down and layered it on grey cardstock, then placed everything on a black card base to deepen the Halloween feel.

For the coffin, I used a great die set from Makers Movement, cutting the shape twice from black cardstock and adding a hinge at the top so it opens like a real coffin. I die cut the gray designer paper for the front and added a few bats, layering them to create extra texture and interest.

Here is the inside of the coffin:

Inside the coffin, I added the die cut skeleton with the bright red heart, giving the interactive element a fun and slightly mischievous twist. On the inside of the lid, I heat embossed the, "I just need a quick nap." sentiment in white, which stands out beautifully against the black cardstock and adds a playful finishing touch to the spooky surprise.

To finish the card, I stamped the Open. If you dare. sentiment, popped it up on dimensionals, and added a few black gems for a final touch of eerie sparkle.

Thank you for stopping by to see my card today. Your thoughtful comments are always appreciated. If you leave a note, a visit to your blog will follow.
