Week of 2/13/21

IC793 - The Happy Housie where I found this great Inspiration

I used this Layered Cube Tutorial to create the card.

I covered it with gold DP and then the wood paper.

I then stamped the whiskey image and colored with copics and fussy cut it and the glass.

The 50 was die cut several times and layered finishing it with the gold shimmer paper.

Top Shelf

WT831 - Old is New

This is one of my oldest stamps. I can't say exactly which is my very first stamp but I know this is one of them. My first purchases were all Christmas stamps.

I heat embossed the JOY in gold sparkle embossing powder.

I then cut the layers and added dimensionals. One of the layers is embossed with the poinsettia emboss folder.

The card was finished with the gold ribbon.

SC840 - today's sketch (I turned it)

USEIT2021 - Stickers

I loved today's sketch it is perfect to use up some of these Cocoa stickers in my tote of items to use up.

Hot Cocoa

MMTPT655 - Zen Cards

USEIT2021 - Asian Wrapping paper

I used another sheet of the Asian inspired wrapping paper my MIL gave me and made another stack of cards. They have come in handy during the pandemic.

Cut the layers, used several different sentiments and layered.

Thinking of You

CAS624 - Hearts

CC829 - This weeks colors

I created 5 of these for my monthly donation for pet sympathy cards. They were super quick I die cut out the paws and the black base. Next I heat embossed the sentiments and cut banners and finished off with some punched red hearts from my scrap papers.

Sorry for Your Loss

FS731 - This weeks Talented Featured Stamper Jen Guarino. She has an amazing gallery full of inspiration. I found this cute ATC Card

USEIT2021 - Heartfelt Creations card kit

When I saw Jen's cute ATC card I remembered I had this Heartfelt Creations card kit in my stack of kits to get put together. I colored the truck and added some shaping to it. I sponged the flowers and card base and shaped the flowers and leaves.

Once all the pieces were colored and shaped I glued them to the card base and added prills and stickles.

Week of 2/6/21 cards

IC792 - Zabana Jewellery where I found this great necklace

I needed to get a Valentine card made for DH and I loved that bright heart on the necklace.

I stamped the Unity image and colored with copics. I then die cut it in a heart and a few more die cut and punched hearts and layered.

I finished a couple of the hearts off with stickles and added the SU sentiment.

Sweet Valentine
MIX419 Add a Heart

This background was created with a watercolor technique where I added red toward the top and then added more water toward the bottom to lighten the color for the Ombre' effect.

Once dry I heat embossed the hearts and the sentiment.

Lucky in Love

WT830 - Brads

USEIT2021 - Brads

While going through my tote of items to use up I came across a large sheet of brads that needed used. These brads are rather large and would require a lot of postage to send. Well Why not put them all on 1 card and only pay that postage once? Oh wait my SIL is a postal carrier and puts thank you cards in boxes for some of her customers. Yeah no extra postage!

I put all the brads on 1 card, stamped the sentiment and popped it on dimensionals so that the brads did not go through the card base.

All Brads

SC839 - This weeks sketch

WT829 - What's your drink - tea, coffee, chocolate; tea-dying, tea bags, coffee filters, painting with coffee - or just stamps/die-cuts

USEIT2021 - Tea Cups and Sentiments

I used today sketch to use up a couple of already stamped off sentiments and some die cuts from my tote that I am trying to use up.

I cut the paper layers and layered on the DP. I then added the tea cups on dimensionals and finished one off with a snowflake and one with a flower.

Coffee

MMTPT654 - Arrows/Feathers (I am counting the birds in the image as my feathers)

USEIT2021 - Light House image

*One side note on this image, my grandma's birthday is today. She passed away a few years ago. So to honor her that is another reason I used this image on today's card. Happy birthday grandma!

This image was in my stack of images to get colored and used up this year. I have a huge pile of stamped images on my desk that I need to get colored and used. That is my USEIT2021 Goal.

I colored it with copics and layered on the plaid paper using black as matting.

Light House

CAS623 - Newsworthy-- our news has been so heavy, so my challenge is to include newsprint, (text backgrounds, sentiment with typewriter type fonts) that is a positive/encouraging message

I started off with sponging the BG with a leaf stencil. Then I embossed the base with a text emboss folder.

I then die cut the butterfly and heat embossed the sentiment and popped it up in dimensionals.

I finished the card off with gems.

Birthday Butterfly

FS730 - This weeks incredibly talented Featured Stamper is Gayle Blair (gaylestamps). I found this terrific Card.

I love the layout of Gayle's card and used that for my inspiration.

I stamped the bowling ball image and colored it with copics. Then I fussy cut the image and die cut a star to put behind it.

I moved the sentiment to the base panel then I stamped a bowling ball 3 times on the kraft layer to give it movement.

Have a Ball

Week of 1/30/21 cards

CAS622 - Bugs Life

I love bees and these are the happiest bees I have found for stamps from DRS Designs. I stamped a few of them and mirror imaged a couple so I could get them going a different direction. Then I added the branch with the beehive and colored the scene with copics. I finished the sky with clouds and added stickles to the bees wings.

Also I had a few people ask me for my tips on getting a good impression for my mirror image stamping. I finally got around to grabbing some images and wrote up some steps. I would love it if you have time to try the steps and let me know how it works for you. You can find it here Mirror Image Stamping.

Bee My Valentine

FS729 - this weeks incredibly talented Featured Stamper is Deb Felts aka debdeb. Her gallery is full of amazing inspiration. I found this CARD

I love the wonderful layout and used that as my starting point. Rather than an oval in the center I kept it rectangle.

I stamped the bowling pins and ball from DRS Designs on white then I fussy cut out just a section of the image and colored it with copics. In the center square I sponged the retro look on the top part of the square and sponged brown on the bottom.

I embossed the cream layer and stamped a single pin and fussy cut that to add tot he sentiment layer.

Have a Ball

MMTPT653 - Mary Nohl

USEIT2021 - Sweet N Sassy image

This image was on my table colored waiting for a card. I found this great IMAGE and it inspired the BG.

I cut a bunch of scrap greens in many colors to create the BG. I then added the white layer then the cone flowers and finished with a gold bow and gem to pick up the gold in the cone flowers.

USEIT2021 - Patches

When I saw today's color challenge i remembered I have this cute DP with the colors all contained in the paper.

The dogs are added with hot glue.

Birthday Pups

WT829 - What's your drink - tea, coffee, chocolate; tea-dying, tea bags, coffee filters, painting with coffee - or just stamps/die-cuts

I love coffee. It is my go to drink of choice and I can drink it day or night.

For my card I used the coffee collection from Heartfelt creations. I stamped the sentiment and die cut the layers. I die cut the flowers and shaped them and layered on the card.

The base layer is the large sentiment in the collection and I distressed that layer.

I finished the card with prills, ribbon and stickles.

How You Bean

IC791 - Shindigz! where I found these cute Hearts

I recently got this cute heart arrangement and thought it would work perfect for a cute Valentine card.

I stamped the first skunk from DRS Designs and covered up the daisies on the stamp. I then did a mirror of the same skunk again not stamping the daisies on the image. Once stamped I masked both the images and stamped the flower hearts.

I colored the scene with copics and sponged clouds and finished the scene with this cute sentiment.

I finished the card with some punched hearts from my pile of punched hearts sitting on my desk.

Also I had a few people ask me for my tips on getting a good impression for my mirror image stamping. I finally got around to grabbing some images and wrote up some steps. I would love it if you have time to try the steps and let me know how it works for you. You can find it here Mirror Image Stamping.

MIX417 - Color it twice

USEIT2021 - Heartfelt Creations card kit

I am trying to use up my old Heartfelt Creations card kits because they no longer sell them. This one was perfect for the MIX challenge.

I started out sponging on the colors and decided that was not dark enough for a few of the items so I added copics to add some shade to the images.

Once colored I shaped the flowers and tree and layered adding dimensionals.

I finished the card with some stickles.

Monkeys

WT828 - Scissors

USEIT2021 - Footballs

I think I have owned the multi strip cutting scissors for about 10 years and never used them. I thought they would be perfect to cut some grass for these little footballs that were in my tote to use up.

I sponged some blue sky on the base then cut the strips in the grass. I hot glued the balls then popped the grass up on dimensionals.

I finished with the celebrate sentiments.

Celebrate!

MMTPT652 - To the Orient

USEIT2021 - Asian Themed Wrapping Paper

About a year ago my MIL gave me a couple of books of Asian themed Wrapping paper. Each sheet makes 16 cards and they have come in handy sharing with family and friends during the pandemic.

I cut out the layers and trimmed the wrapping paper with a sheet of the Pink CS then added it to the white card base. Once all the cards were glued I added the sentiments. I use several different sentiments and then share different cards with everyone.

CAS620 - Case Yourself

I chose this Card from way back in my gallery to Case. I loved the single tree on the front and decided to do a single tree.

I used the super cute DRS Designs image of the sea shells Christmas tree image for my focal rather than embossing a tree. I then colored with copics and added the sentiment. I cut the layers and matted a couple of the colors for the base.

FS727 - This weeks incredibly gifted Featured Stamper is Fifi Soleil (Jesuisjeune). I found this super cute Card

USEIT2021 - Heartfelt Creations card kit

When I saw Fifi's cute house I remembered I have this shaped house in my stack of Heartfelt Creations card kits that I wanted to use up. It is spring rather than Christmas and the flowers are 3 dimensional rather than flat.

IC789 - Tim Holtz Sizzix Board where I found this great Inspiration

IC788 - Canadian Living

When I found this Image I immediately thought o fa black tie wedding card.

I used the bride and groom image from DRS Designs and the congratulations sentiment and heat embossed them in silver. I also used the calendar stamp using only the boxes I embossed the bottom squares.

To add interest I did the flip fold and a silver DP card stock on the inside.

I die cut the bride and groom and finished the card with silver Nuvo Drops.

Have a Ball

FS726 - this weeks incredibly talented featured stamper Denise Bryant. I found this wonderfully bold CARD

USEIT2021 - Christmas sentiments

I was really drawn to the bold paper stripes and rather than using striped paper I used some designer paper and cut it in to strips.

I then went through my stack of already stamped off images that need colored and found I had several of this sentiment. I colored them all up and made a few cards to use them up.

I finished off the card with some ribbon, green sprigs and stickles on the sentiment.
