For my card, I pulled out this adorable Penny Black image, stamped her on white cardstock, and colored her with Copics. The soft shading and bright tones give her such a sweet and cheerful look, so I decided to keep the overall design clean and simple to let the image shine.
To finish the card, I added a small birthday sentiment just beneath the image. The minimal layout keeps the focus right where it belongs and gives the card a fresh, uncluttered feel.
