At Least You Don't Have to Wear a Cone

FS1015 - this week's very talented Featured Stamper is Barbara aka Lady Bugum. I found this INSPIRATION.

When I saw Barbaras card, the cheerful polka dot paper immediately caught my eye. I remembered this playful print tucked in the paper pad I am working through this year, and it felt like the perfect moment to bring it out. I adjusted the layout a bit to suit my supplies and added a floral strip for a touch of color and movement. The sweet dog image from Impression Obsession paired with the uplifting sentiment creates a bright and happy focal point that feels ideal for someone who could use a little encouragement.

The image is colored with copics and layered on soft blue to keep the look light. The floral panel is trimmed with orange for contrast, and the polka dot base is set on blue before everything is mounted on the white card panel. To finish the design, I scattered a few orange sequins for sparkle and a playful finishing touch.

Thank you for stopping by to see my card today. Your thoughtful comments are always appreciated. If you leave a note, a visit to your blog will follow.

  3. It's a lovely card Lisa, beautiful bright background and a cute pup- poor boy! Always feel so sorry for a dog wearing a cone, must be so uncomfortable for them...and it makes it hard for them to judge spaces- my Danes used to crash into doorways (very large cones!) which totally freaked them out! So I think that sentiment is definitely a look on the bright side!

  5. He is so very cute, great coloring of him also, such fun papers to go with him. I remember when our poor dog had to use a cone, not one of her favorites.

  6. Such a cute dog image and pretty bright polkadots and real fun sentiment. As Chris said cones are so clumbersome for them and it's good most vets (over here anyway) now opt for soft collars or more often body suits. In her last few months our Holly had quite a wardrobe of them.
