Week of 2/6/21 cards

IC792 - Zabana Jewellery where I found this great necklace

I needed to get a Valentine card made for DH and I loved that bright heart on the necklace.

I stamped the Unity image and colored with copics. I then die cut it in a heart and a few more die cut and punched hearts and layered.

I finished a couple of the hearts off with stickles and added the SU sentiment.

Sweet Valentine
MIX419 Add a Heart

This background was created with a watercolor technique where I added red toward the top and then added more water toward the bottom to lighten the color for the Ombre' effect.

Once dry I heat embossed the hearts and the sentiment.

WT830 - Brads

USEIT2021 - Brads

While going through my tote of items to use up I came across a large sheet of brads that needed used. These brads are rather large and would require a lot of postage to send. Well Why not put them all on 1 card and only pay that postage once? Oh wait my SIL is a postal carrier and puts thank you cards in boxes for some of her customers. Yeah no extra postage!

I put all the brads on 1 card, stamped the sentiment and popped it on dimensionals so that the brads did not go through the card base.

All Brads

SC839 - This weeks sketch

WT829 - What's your drink - tea, coffee, chocolate; tea-dying, tea bags, coffee filters, painting with coffee - or just stamps/die-cuts

USEIT2021 - Tea Cups and Sentiments

I used today sketch to use up a couple of already stamped off sentiments and some die cuts from my tote that I am trying to use up.

I cut the paper layers and layered on the DP. I then added the tea cups on dimensionals and finished one off with a snowflake and one with a flower.

Coffee

MMTPT654 - Arrows/Feathers (I am counting the birds in the image as my feathers)

USEIT2021 - Light House image

*One side note on this image, my grandma's birthday is today. She passed away a few years ago. So to honor her that is another reason I used this image on today's card. Happy birthday grandma!

This image was in my stack of images to get colored and used up this year. I have a huge pile of stamped images on my desk that I need to get colored and used. That is my USEIT2021 Goal.

I colored it with copics and layered on the plaid paper using black as matting.

Light House

CAS623 - Newsworthy-- our news has been so heavy, so my challenge is to include newsprint, (text backgrounds, sentiment with typewriter type fonts) that is a positive/encouraging message

I started off with sponging the BG with a leaf stencil. Then I embossed the base with a text emboss folder.

I then die cut the butterfly and heat embossed the sentiment and popped it up in dimensionals.

I finished the card off with gems.

Birthday Butterfly

FS730 - This weeks incredibly talented Featured Stamper is Gayle Blair (gaylestamps). I found this terrific Card.

I love the layout of Gayle's card and used that for my inspiration.

I stamped the bowling ball image and colored it with copics. Then I fussy cut the image and die cut a star to put behind it.

I moved the sentiment to the base panel then I stamped a bowling ball 3 times on the kraft layer to give it movement.

Have a Ball

  1. Beautiful cards! I think I saw some of these on SCS. I love your embossed print. It looks like one I would want to constantly touch. Your bowling pins also look so great. I wish I could hit a few strikes like that. I also love your coloring on your lighthouse. It is nice to remember your grandma and honor her with a card. Thanks for sharing your cards, Lisa. I enjoy going through them. They are all beautiful and creative. Stay happy and healthy.

  2. Such a varied selection this week! I think my favorite is the lighthouse. (I’m always partial to your beautiful coloring!!!!) It reminds me of Chincoteague VA- one of our favorite vacation spots.

    1. Thank you so much Angela. I am partial to the lighthouse as I posted it on my grandma's birthday and she is buried by a light house in Michigan that is red and white. I miss her every day and love when I can create a card inspired by her.
