Week of 1/2/21 Cards

Happy New Year craft friends. I did great last year trying to use stuff up from my tote of items and hope to get more of that tote used up this year. I also added to my resolution for crafting to color and use up a huge stack of already stamped and printed off digital images that I have been collecting over the last several years. I need to get that stack of images colored and used on cards because it has grown out of control.

What is your craft goal for 2021? I would love to know what you plan on doing this year for your crafting.

F4A567 - Encouragement

USEIT2021 - little girl

I am continuing my journey this year to use up a tote full of items. This year I will also get to working on using images that I have already stamped out and need to color and get added to cards. I am not sure I can get them all used this year but I will start the journey.

This little girl was in the tote. She is 3 dimensional and super cute and I thought this sentiment was perfect for an encouragement card.

And Suddenly...

MIX414 - Snowy Day

When I saw today's challenge I knew exactly what image I wanted to use. This cute snowman from DRS Designs was just perfect with this sentiment.

I stamped the snowman and the background scene then I stamped the silhouette image on a mirror image stamp. I then colored with copics added the frozen pond and added stickles and white gel pen to the pond.

It's Freezin'
FS725 - This weeks incredibly gifted Featured Stamper is Ina aka yellowrose46. I found this wonderful CARD

I grabbed another sheet of the Asian themed wrapping paper my MIL gave me that I am trying to get used up. It is gorgeous paper but really thin. I changed the layout just a bit I centered the paper and trimmed the edges then I heat embossed the sentiment in white and added it across the center.

Happy Birthday
CAS618 - Snow

I used the wax resist technique and a snow emboss folder to create the BG on my card. i then stamped the image and sentiment in blue and die cut the banner. The card was finished off with the ribbon and sequins.

Peace Joy Happiness

CC824 - Blushing Bride, Smoky Slate, Pool Party

USEIT2020 - Heartfelt Creations card kit

I am trying to get the rest of the old card kits from Heartfelt Creations used up. This one was perfect for today's colors.

I sponged the colors on the house and flowers, leaves and stones. I then shaped the flowers and leaves and layered the pieces. I finished off the flowers with some stickles.

For You...
MMTPT649 - EPEC is to make a pop-up box card

I have always wanted to try this card fold because I want to make one for my hubby for his birthday coming up. This was so much fun to make and super quick too.

Cut the papers and created the cube card following the directions in the Tutorials.

Hello
WT825 - Ring in a new start. Using bells, bell flowers, rings....an encouragement, motivation or celebration card

I have had this stamp set for over a year and thought I needed to get it used. This challenge is perfect to show case the beautiful layered bells in the set. I am also working on Christmas cards for next year. My goal is 2 a week to get them all made early so I can beat the last minute rush for cards.

Christmas Bells

IC787 - Fancy where I found this great Inspiration

I loved the trees in the background and took that for my inspiration for creating a tree on my card.

I have started punching down my scrap papers. They seem to be piling up a bit from all the die cutting and I need to get some cleared out of drawers. I punched a bunch of different green scraps down and followed the evergreen tree tutorial to create this tree.

I am also working on 2 cards a week for Christmas however I think I need to up that to 3 cards a week so I don't fall behind what I need this year.

The background I sponged blue at the top and left the base white for the ground.

I finished the tree with a silver punched star and red stickles for the tree.

The sentiment is from DRS Designs.

  1. Oh my what glorious cards this week. This is the way to start the year! My goal this year is to try and make at least one new card a week. I take care of my mother and have found that I really can't leave her alone. So, my craft room has been abandoned. I may have to craft late at night, but that is my goal. I NEED my paper therapy. Wish me luck.

Your cards are amazing. I love your artistic ability and your attention to detail. Your icy pond looks so realistic. Love the scene you created. And your bell ornaments are so crisp and shiny, I can hear them jingle. Your tree branches are popping out and inviting me, no, daring me to touch them. Beautifully made and put together. I love to read how you have made use of the things in your stash. Amazing...that wrapping paper is beautiful and makes a gorgeous card. You do have me thinking about keeping my calendar from last year. The pictures could be trimmed down, maybe... Thanks for the inspiration, Lisa.

    1. Good luck with your goal Sallie, you can do it, I have faith.

Yes keep your calendar from last year, it would make beautiful cards and would be simile to add a sentiment for quick cards when you have to spend time with your mom.

Thanks for stopping by sweet friend!
