Week of 9/12/20 cards

FS709 - is the incredibly talented Barbara Sproatmeyer aka sproatmeyer. Wowza her gallery will blow you away. I found this CARD

I loved the large tree on the BG and I needed to make a sympathy card for my friends that have the pet shop. Their little wonderful Sara passed this week and they are heartbroken.

I stamped this great tree from Whimsy stamps and colored with copics. I added the silhouette dog and the sentiment and hand wrote in for Sara to personalize the card for them.

For Sara

CAS602 - What’s your favorite primary color? What’s you favorite secondary color? Use only those (and neutrals)

My favorite primary color is blue (any and all blues) and my secondary favorite color is green.

I die cut the base layer and die cut the lace layer and glued together. Then I die cut the ovals and stamped the sentiment and popped up on dimensionals.

I stamped the flowers and sponged the color on and shaped and layered. I finished with prills and stickles.

This year I was asked the night before mother's day to make 3 mother's day cards. Well I decided making cards last minute is not for me so I am making several in advance and will have them ready. I have already started giving out the father's day cards that I made in advance for next year so I imagine mother's day cards will also be scooped up too.

Mother's Day

MMTPT633 - Use a pattern somewhere on your card.

USEIT2020 Asian Paper

I am working my way through 2 pads of Asian themed wrapping paper that my MIL got me for cards. They are very thin and really are tough to put on cards so I am just using them up for stacks of Thinking of you cards. I have a few friends that have been asking for them to send out during this pandemic and these are quick.

I cut the layers down and stamped the sentiment and glued.

Thinking of You

WT809 - What's your angle - used an angled panel

USEIT2020 - Patches

I am still going through my tote trying to use stuff up and came across these two Disney patches. They are perfect for little kids and birthday cards.

Cut the papers, layered, stamped sentiments and hot glued the patches to the cards.

Disney Birthday
F4A551 - Too Cute to be Scary

I have several new Halloween DRS Designs images and wanted to play with them to see what they all looked like. I thought the quickest way to see them all stamped out was to just create a BG with them.

All of these were heat embossed in white on orange paper. I then cut the layers, added ribbon and added the sentiment popped up on dimensionals.

Trick or Treat

MIX398 - Healing

USEIT2020 - Heartfelt Creations card kit

I am trying to use up the last of the Heartfelt Creations card kits in my stash by the end of the year and when I saw today's MIX I remembered this cute monkey sitting back and relaxing. This is what I do when I need to focus on me, just sit back and relax. And having a drink is always nice too.

I colored the images with copics and layered on the card base adding dimensionals. I finished off with stickles.

Relax

IC771 - Stuffed Safari where I found this cute FROG It looks like the frog in this DRS little boy image.

First I stamped the little boy and masked him.

I then stamped the mountains then stamped the trees in grey and then off set them and stamped them in green.

Finally I stamped the rocks and then I colored the scene with copics.

I finished with some clouds and hand drawn birds.

Little Boys

  1. Hey there, Lisa. Terrific cards this week. I like the different shades of green that you created on your For Sara card. I am always amazed at your ability to shade and blend with your copic markers. Your skills are amazing. My next favorite is your Mother's Day card. Those blue flowers look beautiful. I just love the blue on the tips of the petals. You have arranged them beautifully on the lacy die cuts. Of course, all of your cards are beautiful, but before I go, I must say, the detail on your Little Boys card, wow. Did you plant each blade of grass? And your mountains look spectacular. I really like your style and look forward to seeing next week's creations. Thanks so much for sharing!

    1. Thank you so much Sally. I do love adding shade to images and playing with colors. And yes I did add each blade of grass on the Little Boys card. I just adore that card. I think that one is my favorite as I just love that little image.
