Week of 2/20/21 Cards

IC794 - Monika Winden / Homemate Pinterest boards where I found this great Tile

I used a hexagon die cut and my green scrap papers and cut out a bunch of different greens. (Note this is a fantastic way to use up colored scraps and I will be doing this again.)

Some are stamped with black, some are stamped with green and some are white heat embossed.

I used different prints of stripes, dots and 2 different covers.

Once the pieces were ready I laid out the pattern and finished with this wonderful new sentiment for St Patrick's Day from DRS Designs popped up on dimensionals.

I finished with sequins.

F4A574 - Water Colors

MAR21VSNMINI3 - Snowy Mountains

I used the Ton mountains to create this scene then added ribbon and a flower and finished with the sympathy sentiment.

MAR21VSNMINI2 - Butterflies

USEIT2021 - Embossed papers and butterflies

I needed to use up a stack of embossed papers and these butterflies. They were perfect for a set of sympathy cards.

Glued the layers and sponged yellow on the butterflies.

Sympathy
MAR21VSNMINI1 - Concerts in the Park

USEIT2021 - Trees

When I saw the challenge for the VSN Mini I remembered I had these die cut trees that needed to be used out of my tote. I embossed the base layer with music and then layered the trees popping the top one on dimensionals.

I then die cut the deer, stamped the sentiment and added some textured DP.

Merry Christmas
WT832 - Photo corners (bought or DIY)

I recently created a mirror image stamping tutorial and uploaded it to my blog as many have asked how I get a good stamp when I mirror image stamp. Let me know how it works for you: Mirror Image Stamping.

This leprechaun was mirror image stamped. Then I masked him and stamped the pot of gold.

Once the images were down I colored them with copics. I then stenciled the rainbow and stamped the sentiment.

I finished with the photo corners and nuvo drops.

Blessings for You
CC831 - FLIRTY FLAMINGOS DINING ON MANGOS AND PEARS

USEIT2021 - Heartfelt Creations card kit

I am trying to use up the last of my card kits from Heartfelt Creations. They no longer make them and I thought it was time to get them used up out of my stash.

This one was quick I sponged the edge of the card layers, colored tie images with copics. added dimnesionals and finished with prills.

My Favorite Place

MMTPT656 - Pair Wedding

I used 2 pairs of hearts. One pair is the small and the other pair is the large.

I stamped the BG on the light purple then distressed it. Then I looked through my stash for several purple scraps and cut them down to various sizes and distressed all the edges.

I die cut the hearts and punched the small hearts. I finished with the die cut love and Nuvo Drops to add shine to the letters.

I love making scrappy cards it helps empty my bin of all the small pieces and when you distress the edges it adds just the right texture to the cards.

Love

CAS625 - Unbelievable - include magic or something not real

This Cupig is super cute. I thought a flying pig was perfect for the challenge. I colored it with copics and added stickles to the hearts.

Happy Valentine's Day

FS732 - This weeks incredibly gifted Featured Stamper is Linda (aka hotwheels). She has an amazing gallery full of inspiration. I found this gorgeous CARD

USEIT2021 - Asian wrapping paper

I love the all over flowers she did on her card. It reminded me of my Asian papers that my MIL gave me. I am trying to get them made up it is one of my 2021 craft goals. It is beautiful paper but very thin and tough to work with for cards.

I cut down this pink sheet of wrapping paper and layered it on red and yellow to pick up the colors on the paper. I added a Just a note and a few other sentiments and added a ribbon across the card where Linda had her sentiment on a strip of velum.

Just a Note

MIX421 - My Favorite Place (I am not one to travel much, I am good with being home)

USEIT2021 - Heartfelt Creations kit

When I saw today's MIX challenge I remembered I had this cute card kit from Heartfelt Creations that I needed to get used up. It has a sign that says Home Sweet Home. I am not one to travel much and am perfectly fine with staying home.

I colored the images with copics and shaped them. I then layered on dimensionals and added stickles.

The 50 was die cut several times and layered finishing it with the gold shimmer paper.

This is one of my oldest stamps. I can't say exactly which is my very first stamp but I know this is one of them. My first purchases were all Christmas stamps.

I heat embossed the JOY in gold sparkle embossing powder.

The card was finished with the gold ribbon.

IC792 - Zabana Jewellery where I found this great necklace

I needed to get a Valentine card made for DH and I loved that bright heart on the necklace.

I stamped the Unity image and colored with copics. I then die cut it in a heart and a few more die cut and punched hearts and layered.

I finished a couple of the hearts off with stickles and added the SU sentiment.

Sweet Valentine
MIX419 Add a Heart

This background was created with a watercolor technique where I added red toward the top and then added more water toward the bottom to lighten the color for the Ombre' effect.

Once dry I heat embossed the hearts and the sentiment.

Lucky in Love

WT830 - Brads

USEIT2021 - Brads

While going through my tote of items to use up I came across a large sheet of brads that needed used. These brads are rather large and would require a lot of postage to send. Well Why not put them all on 1 card and only pay that postage once? Oh wait my SIL is a postal carrier and puts thank you cards in boxes for some of her customers. Yeah no extra postage!

I put all the brads on 1 card, stamped the sentiment and popped it on dimensionals so that the brads did not go through the card base.

All Brads

SC839 - This weeks sketch

WT829 - What's your drink - tea, coffee, chocolate; tea-dying, tea bags, coffee filters, painting with coffee - or just stamps/die-cuts

USEIT2021 - Tea Cups and Sentiments

I used today sketch to use up a couple of already stamped off sentiments and some die cuts from my tote that I am trying to use up.

I cut the paper layers and layered on the DP. I then added the tea cups on dimensionals and finished one off with a snowflake and one with a flower.

Coffee

MMTPT654 - Arrows/Feathers (I am counting the birds in the image as my feathers)

USEIT2021 - Light House image

*One side note on this image, my grandma's birthday is today. She passed away a few years ago. So to honor her that is another reason I used this image on today's card. Happy birthday grandma!

This image was in my stack of images to get colored and used up this year. I have a huge pile of stamped images on my desk that I need to get colored and used. That is my USEIT2021 Goal.

I colored it with copics and layered on the plaid paper using black as matting.

Light House

CAS623 - Newsworthy-- our news has been so heavy, so my challenge is to include newsprint, (text backgrounds, sentiment with typewriter type fonts) that is a positive/encouraging message

I started off with sponging the BG with a leaf stencil. Then I embossed the base with a text emboss folder.

I then die cut the butterfly and heat embossed the sentiment and popped it up in dimensionals.

I finished the card off with gems.

Birthday Butterfly

FS730 - This weeks incredibly talented Featured Stamper is Gayle Blair (gaylestamps). I found this terrific Card.

I love the layout of Gayle's card and used that for my inspiration.

I stamped the bowling ball image and colored it with copics. Then I fussy cut the image and die cut a star to put behind it.

I moved the sentiment to the base panel then I stamped a bowling ball 3 times on the kraft layer to give it movement.

Have a Ball

Week of 1/30/21 cards

CAS622 - Bugs Life

I love bees and these are the happiest bees I have found for stamps from DRS Designs. I stamped a few of them and mirror imaged a couple so I could get them going a different direction. Then I added the branch with the beehive and colored the scene with copics. I finished the sky with clouds and added stickles to the bees wings.

Also I had a few people ask me for my tips on getting a good impression for my mirror image stamping. I finally got around to grabbing some images and wrote up some steps. I would love it if you have time to try the steps and let me know how it works for you. You can find it here Mirror Image Stamping.

Bee My Valentine

FS729 - this weeks incredibly talented Featured Stamper is Deb Felts aka debdeb. Her gallery is full of amazing inspiration. I found this CARD

I love the wonderful layout and used that as my starting point. Rather than an oval in the center I kept it rectangle.

I stamped the bowling pins and ball from DRS Designs on white then I fussy cut out just a section of the image and colored it with copics. In the center square I sponged the retro look on the top part of the square and sponged brown on the bottom.

I embossed the cream layer and stamped a single pin and fussy cut that to add tot he sentiment layer.

Have a Ball

MMTPT653 - Mary Nohl

USEIT2021 - Sweet N Sassy image

This image was on my table colored waiting for a card. I found this great IMAGE and it inspired the BG.

USEIT2021 - Patches

When I saw today's color challenge i remembered I have this cute DP with the colors all contained in the paper.

WT829 - What's your drink - tea, coffee, chocolate; tea-dying, tea bags, coffee filters, painting with coffee - or just stamps/die-cuts

I love coffee. It is my go to drink of choice and I can drink it day or night.

For my card I used the coffee collection from Heartfelt creations. I stamped the sentiment and die cut the layers. I die cut the flowers and shaped them and layered on the card.

The base layer is the large sentiment in the collection and I distressed that layer.

I finished the card with prills, ribbon and stickles.

How You Bean

IC791 - Shindigz! where I found these cute Hearts

I recently got this cute heart arrangement and thought it would work perfect for a cute Valentine card.

I stamped the first skunk from DRS Designs and covered up the daisies on the stamp. I then did a mirror of the same skunk again not stamping the daisies on the image. Once stamped I masked both the images and stamped the flower hearts.

I colored the scene with copics and sponged clouds and finished the scene with this cute sentiment.

I finished the card with some punched hearts from my pile of punched hearts sitting on my desk.

Also I had a few people ask me for my tips on getting a good impression for my mirror image stamping. I finally got around to grabbing some images and wrote up some steps. I would love it if you have time to try the steps and let me know how it works for you. You can find it here Mirror Image Stamping.

Week of 1/22/21 cards

IC790 - Hot Chocolate Design where I found these cute SHOES

Rather than a Panda face I went with Jack from Nightmare Before Christmas.

I got this cute stencil and thought it was perfect for some fun Christmas cards for some Jack fans.

I stenciled black ink for the face then added the sentiment.

Jack

MIX417 - Color it twice

USEIT2021 - Heartfelt Creations card kit

I am trying to use up my old Heartfelt Creations card kits because they no longer sell them. This one was perfect for the MIX challenge.

I started out sponging on the colors and decided that was not dark enough for a few of the items so I added copics to add some shade to the images.

Once colored I shaped the flowers and tree and layered adding dimensionals.

I finished the card with some stickles.

Monkeys

WT828 - Scissors

USEIT2021 - Footballs

I think I have owned the multi strip cutting scissors for about 10 years and never used them. I thought they would be perfect to cut some grass for these little footballs that were in my tote to use up.

I sponged some blue sky on the base then cut the strips in the grass. I hot glued the balls then popped the grass up on dimensionals.

I finished with the celebrate sentiments.

Celebrate!

MMTPT652 - To the Orient

USEIT2021 - Asian Themed Wrapping Paper

About a year ago my MIL gave me a couple of books of Asian themed Wrapping paper. Each sheet makes 16 cards and they have come in handy sharing with family and friends during the pandemic.

I cut out the layers and trimmed the wrapping paper with a sheet of the Pink CS then added it to the white card base. Once all the cards were glued I added the sentiments. I use several different sentiments and then share different cards with everyone.

Thinking of You

CAS621 - Stock Your Stash

This weeks CAS is to stock our stash with cards that we need. I need pet sympathy cards for my monthly donation. Every month I work to build up the donation cards and the CAS challenge is perfect to help with that donation.

FS728 - This weeks incredibly talented Featured Stamper Debbie, aka DebbieinOC. I found this gorgeous Card.

USEIT2021 - Asian Themed Wrapping Paper

When I saw Debbie's gorgeous Gold and black card I knew I needed to use up a gold and black sheet of the Asian themed Wrapping paper my MIL got me. Each sheet makes 16 cards and they have come in handy sharing with family and friends during the pandemic.

I cut out the layers and trimmed the wrapping paper with a sheet of the gold CS then added it to the white card base. Once all the cards were glued I added the sentiments. I use several different sentiments and then share different cards with everyone.
