Week of 12/5/20 Cards

WT821 - Over the Top

This image was in my stack of images that have been sent to me over the years. I am working my way through that stack trying to color them up and get them on cards.

I colored it with pencils and cut down the card base so that when it sits on the card it still is A2 size.

I added the DP and added the sentiment over the image and finished with gold bakers twine and gems.

Merry Christmas
MMTPT645 - Oh Look Kitties

USEIT2020 - Butterfly

This kitty came in a pack of cat papers and is perfect for today's teapot recipient. I cut the papers, punched out the kitty image and popped up on dimensionals. I finished with this dimensional butterfly from my tote of items I am trying to use up.

Kitty
CAS614 - What's on TV (We love watching the show Alone, so much scenery and wildlife)

This was super quick stamp layering with The Ton stamps and sponged the sky.

Alone

FS721 - this weeks incredibly gifted Featured Stamper is Melissa aka javagirl984. Her gallery will inspire so much creativity. I found this super cute Card.

I love the wonderful floral base on her card. I took off the bird and ribbon. For my card I stamped the flowers a few times from DRS Designs and colored with copics in pinks. I then stamped the sentiment and added gems rather than brads.

Love & Laughter

F4A563 - Bring Out The Old

USEIT2020 - Green die cut layers

CCC20DEC - Anything goes

This Heartfelt Creations candle is one of my oldest images from their collections. These two were actually stamped and sent to me and in my pile of images that I hope to get many used up next year as the pile is really quite large.

The green layers were in my tote of items to use up. They were actually larger than the image so I cut out the center section and pieced them back together behind the candle image.

I matted with DP and added poinsettias and pearls. The image and poinsettias are finished off with stickles.

MIX410 - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!

USEIT2020 - Beer Wrapper

My DH wanted to know if I could use the wrappers from his beer cans on a card. Of course! He has been taking them off cans for a while and I had 6 of them in my craft room for a very long time. Time to get them used up!

I cut down the wrappers and layered on black CS. I die cut the dragons, shaped them and added a metallic rub on to the dragons adding dimensions to the dragons. I then die cut a couple of yellow circles and added dimensionals to the top circle and sponged the edge of the circles with yellow ink to add interest to them.

I stamped Happy birthday and happy anniversary to the cards so I could use them for a few occasions.

Dragons & Beer

CC820 - gorgeous grape, highland heather, balmy blue

USEIT2020 - Heartfelt Creations card kit

I am trying to use up the last of the Heartfelt Creations card kits I have in my stash and this one is perfect for today's colors.

I sponged the edge of the layers and glued down. Next I colored the images with copics and layered adding some shaping and dimensionals.

The card was finished off with stickles.

Celebrate
IC783 - JRL Interiors where I found this great Wood Panel

When I think of getting a new home I think of all the projects that go in to a new home. My last house before we moved in we had to strip all the wood floors and restain them. What a job that was to do an entire house that was all wood floors.

For this card I stamped the Kraft layer with the DRS Wood Grain stamp and then embossed it with a wood emboss folder.

I stamped the Just Moved key and colored it with copics.

I cut the layers and found this measuring tape, washi tape and added it with a few flowers.

  2. Gorgeous cards, Lisa. Beer can labels? Really? I am amazed at how your brain works to put all of the pieces together and find use for the wide range of items in your stash. This is a skill I struggle with every time I make a card. My pile grows quicker than I can use it. Thanks for sharing your ideas!

    1. Thanks Sally. Yes I seem to find fun ways to use some super funny items but I love to create and try to use different items to challenge myself.
