Week of 2/4/18 Cards

FS574 - the super talented Amy Marshall {aka Kalla Walla}. I found this BEAUTY.

I loved the sponging on the card that blue was so eye catching it really drew me in to look. I sponged the card bases with some distress oxides and stamped the sentiments. Rather than white gel pens I used sequins and finished off with the green duck embellishments instead of the silhouette.

MMTPT498 - Teapot Tuesday challenge on Split Coast Stampers

Stamped the Unity girl and colored with copics. Stamped the Concord & 9th plaid on the card base in purple. Layered and finished off with a tag from my stash of stuff I am trying to use up on dimensionals.

SC683 - this week's sketch

Working my way through images in my stamped stack I found this great image from Unity. I needed a birthday card for my niece and this image is perfect.

Colored with pencils and layered on green and DSP. Used some die cut flowers on my table and added Nuvo drops to the centers. Stamped the birthday sentiment and again using stuff on my table grabbed the label that was already die cut to add some layering.

WT674 - What ever suits you

Stamped the sentiment and die cut the hearts layers from the Heartfelt Creations hearts die cuts and popped the top layer on dimensionals.

Using a bunch of scraps die cut and punched the flowers and leaves from white and laid around the heart.

This black and white layer is from a perfume bag that I just had to use on a card so it sat on my desk for over a year waiting for a card. Well as I am going through my hoarded stuff this got pulled out for the card. :)

Added some ribbon and bakers twine and used a Love die cut and some additional hearts and Nuvo drops for the flowers.

My brother asked for a Valentine card for his wife. I sure hope this will do. :) Good thing she does not visit my SCS page until after I post the links on my FB so I will have to hold off until after Valentines day.

F4A416 - Red Hot Love

I needed a birthday card for my DH and cut this out on my Cricut. Well I decided I wanted to try coloring an image for him instead so I colored my card for the MIX. Guess which card he will be getting this year? Yes the card on the MIX challenge. Not to worry this one will go to my nephew who's birthday is exactly one week later. :)

Cut this on my Cricut and glued the pieces on red CS. Stamped the birthday sentiment and layered on black and the white card base.

MIX263 - Touch of Wow

When I saw this image on Kit & Clowder I was hooked and had to get this class. My DH, son and many friends are huge dragon fans and I just knew I needed this in my stash and had to take the class.

Printed the image and colored with copics. What really brought me to the WOW on the image was the background. Used distress ink refills, alcohol and white gel pen to create the BG. Pounced the green and purple on the BG and then used a q tip to dab the alcohol dots. Finished off with some white gel tip pen dots and crosses.

My DH's birthday is coming up and I am so excited to give him this card that every day I ask him if it is his birthday yet. LOL!

The reason for a 5 on this card...well let's just say coloring those wings was a huge challenge. Trying to figure out which wing was in the back and which one was in front because they are colored as if they are transparent. Oh boy...it took 4 tries until I was pleased with coloring them. So if you think that coloring is easy, just remember to practice, practice, practice. We all have to learn and it takes practice for us all.

Copics Used:

IC626 - Spoonflower where I found THIS fabric design.

Using my Green Duck embellishments trying to use them up in 2018 I popped the elephant on hearts and added dimensionals. Embossed some dots in the BG and added a strip of dotted paper behind the elephant and a plaid pink DPS.
