Dragon Father's Day

IC1043 - Musubi Kiln and Pinterest - INSPIRATION

For this card, I was inspired by the dragon. I used a beer label from my husband's favorite brew, which has a beautiful shimmer. I layered it onto gold mat cardstock, then die cut the dragon from the same gold mat.

While the dragon was still in the die, I applied VersaMark through the openings and added black heat embossing to create detailed accents.

Both the dragon and the sentiment are popped up on dimensionals to add depth and dimension.

Christmas Mittens

WT1081 - Use Something that Someone Else Gave You

USEIT2025 - Ephemera

My friend Jan (Precious Kitty) gave me these ephemera mittens, and they have been tucked in my tote for quite some time. This challenge was the perfect opportunity to finally use them.

I trimmed down some festive papers to build the layout, popped the mittens up on dimensionals, and finished the card with a raised sentiment and a scattering of sequins.

Merry Christmas

SC1090 - this week's sketch on splitcoaststampers.com

For this card, I selected a festive Christmas paper for the base layer, added a bold holiday sentiment, and accented the design with several layered snowflakes arranged in a scattered pattern.

The sentiment is elevated with dimensionals to add depth and visual interest.

Fridge Magnets

CAS874 - Unique Talent

I am a list maker. I make lists for work, for home, and for crafting. I enjoy working through each one to get things done. For this card, I added three different lists to the front of the fridge.

I began with the cute fridge die cut from Spellbinders and cut it from white cardstock. I die cut the sentiment using various scrap papers and added several other die cut pieces to decorate the front.

My new DIL loves ducks, so I asked if I could create this card for her, pairing it with a fun pun that felt just right.

FS981 - This week's very talented Featured Stamper whitetigers aka Michelle - INSPIRATION

I was inspired by MichelleĆ¢€™s use of paper strips and decided to pull from my own stash of designer papers. I found a set of strips in one pack that worked perfectly for the card front.

They are mounted on white with a black mat beneath. A black ribbon wraps across the panel, and the sentiment is stamped on an oval layer and popped up with dimensionals.

To finish, a few scattered gems add sparkle and interest.

2025 Christmas Bus

IC1042 - Callisters Christmas - INSPIRATION

I’ve lost count of how many years I’ve made school bus Christmas cards for my sister, but it’s become a cherished tradition. Each year, I create a fresh stack featuring this beloved school bus die cut, perfect for her to share with co-workers. Today’s inspiration gave me the perfect excuse to pull it out again and begin this year’s batch.

I started by die cutting the bus and adding black trim around the window for contrast. To give the design more dimension, I carefully cut the bus apart and popped the front section up with foam tape. The sentiment on the bumper “Pike” was custom ordered this past year from Magnuson Custom Stamps and is white heat embossed for a crisp finish.

It’s subtle, but the tires are also heat embossed in clear to give them a bit of tread texture. This year’s version is completed with a “Merry Christmas” sentiment, layered on red matting for a festive pop, and accented with die cut holly and glossy red Nuvo Drops.

2025 Christmas Bus

Challenges:

52 Christmas Card Throwdown - Stamps (3 used on this card, Tires, School name & Sentiment)
A Place to Start - ATG (Something New) New stamp for tires and new stamp for the school name used
Allsorts - ATG
As You Like It - Favorite Embellishment (I don't have an exact favorite embellishment however I do love using Nuvo Drops. They add just a bit to the projects and if making cards, they don't add too much bulk so no additional postage is needed.

Soccer Birthday

WT1080 - World Children's Day

For this card, I used a fantastic die cut set from Spellbinders to create the shirt and soccer ball elements. I die cut the number 13 from silver mirror paper for a bold, celebratory touch, and popped both the birthday banner and soccer ball up on dimensionals to add depth. All the die cuts were layered over a leafy tree designer paper, which adds a fresh, outdoorsy feel that complements the sporty theme.
