For my card, I used some scrap paper from my designer paper stash to create the strips. I then used a stitched butterfly using up more of the DMC floss from the back of my craft chair.
The butterfly and sentiment were popped up on dimensionals and the card was finished with a few mirror candy dots.

It's a beautiful design Lisa, the stitched butterfly is gorgeous, the colours of the floss echo the colours of the chevron strips perfectly.
