Herringbone Birthday

F4A784 - Sequins

For my card, I did a quick herringbone technique using up a few different scrap papers from my stash. It is one of my go to designs to use a few different scraps and make a quilt feeling card for my MIL as she is a quilter and loves giving quilt style cards to her friends.

Birthday Balloons

FS942 - this week's very talented featured stamper is NicholeC. I found this INSPIRATION.

Rather than doing ombre, I went bold with the colors. I kept the 3 balloons as were on the card but went with orange, pink and purple. I have some really gorgeous handmade paper in my collection that I picked up at a wonderful art store in Chicago and it was perfect for a starting point on my card.

I added some additional layering using some coordinating papers then added the purple for layering.

Once layered, I finished with the punched balloons and added some bakers twine with a couple of dimensionals to the top balloons.

As You Like it Challenge - Femine or Masculine - This is really tough to choose. I have more nephews in my family and so I try to focus on making cards for all of them. Femine cards are really easy to make. I do try to make several neutral cards so that I could add a few flowers and jazz it up for female if needed for a quick card.

I was inspired by the large butterfly. For my card, I used this Memory Box Nordic Butterfly and layered it in blues. I then added some coordinating papers and added a pink layer as Patti had pink on her butterfly.

I finished with a layered birthday sentiment and several tiny die cut butterflies.

With Love for Polly

MMTPT863 - In Honor of Polly

I am so deeply sorry to hear about our dear friend Polly. I have been crafting friends with her for many years and am eternally grateful for getting to meet her on zoom calls when we were both hosting on Virtual Stamp Night challenges.

For my card, I used this beautiful napkin that has a collage theme to it. I layered it on gold matt designer paper and then a blue layer.

The card was finished with the sentiment popped up on dimensionals and really small diamond dots that were left over from a diamond art. I love these little diamonds and love the shine and size.

Polly sent me some stamped dog images a few years back and I have found where I can purchase all of them to add them to my collection. I am looking forward to adding them to my collection so I can keep her memory fresh in my mind every time I use one.

Thank you for stopping by to check out my card today. I appreciate the lovely comments. If you leave me a comment, I can stop by your blog for a visit.

Sympathy

FS939 - This week's featured stamper is auntof8. I am an aunt of 9 myself.  Love all of them. Here is my INSPIRATION.

I am a sucker for a pet sympathy card. Rather than the background die cut paws, I used paper. I used a similar dog but much larger and added a second one to create a hug. When it is open it shows the sentiment.

The dog die cut is from Waffle Flower.

This will be another of my pet donation cards.

XOXO

IC1000 - Halmark & Pintrist - INSPIRATION

F4A780 - The Letter H - Heart and Hearts

MIX627 - Inspire Your Heart with Art (I am inspired by every Halmark love movie)

For my card, I was inspired by the layout of the hearts from the inspiration. I made another card recently using this same technique. It is a fun technique and a great way to use up a bunch of small hearts that I punch out of my scrap paper.

I learned this technique more than 5 years ago. The technique used die cuts but I again used scrap punched hearts. I layered them gluing 5 high. Next, I used my score tool to score the lines on white cardstock. I then laid out the hearts on the card front.

Die Cut Relief Tutorial - Splitcoaststampers

Once the glue was dry, I used red acrylic paint for the first layer then I used watered down pink and ran it over the top of the hearts. Finally, while it was still damp, I used gold foil flakes.

The card was finished with The Ton die cut XOXO and the sentiment popped up on dimensionals.

Thank you for stopping by to check out my card today. I appreciate the lovely comments. If you leave me a comment, I can stop by your blog for a visit.
