With Love

IC1050 - Quilted Chicken and Pinterest - INSPIRATION

This card was inspired by the floral pattern in the fabric, and I found fun floral paper in my stash. I cut the layers and added a white panel to create contrast and interest. The front was finished with a Happy Birthday sentiment, layered on vellum so the bold print remained the focal point.

For this design, I also wanted to experiment with a new fold called the Concertina Pop‑Up. Every tutorial I found featured a version larger than A2, so I created my own measurements to adapt the fold to A2 size. You can find my tutorial here: Concertina Pop-Up Card A2

Here is the inside of my card:

I hope you will give this fold a try, it is such a fun and creative way to finish the inside of a card.

Boy Thinking of You

MMTPT869 - Tie Dye

I used this great TUTORIAL to create the background on my card using blue and yellow.

The image is from The Flonz and I finished the card with a few scattered stars from my scraps.

The One Who Has My Heart

WT1012 - Create a silhouette

I used the tutorial Scherenschnitte (Scissor Cut) Stamping. I used this cute image from My Favorite things with the tutorial.

Next, stenciled the heart then embossed the little hearts over the panel. I then sponged the edges of the heart layer. I cut down the remaining layers and popped the bears and sentiment up on dimensionals.

Cute as a Button

CAS735 - make an image in an unusual color

For my card today I thought I would have a little fun with it. I had never tried the Basket Weave and thought I would give it a try. It is so easy and a great way to add a little interest to your cards with no extra tools needed besides scissors. I used the tutorial on splitcoaststampers.com HERE.

One thing I did that made it a bit easier is when I folded the weave, I used my scoreboard to score the pieces. This helped to keep the cardstock from tearing while I was folding them.

I then stamped the cute monkey from DRS Designs, fussy cut it and added dimensionals. I finished the card with the cute sentiment, button and bakers twine.
